Would also like it to work with table columns e..g MyTable[My Column] and the new SORT(), UNIQUE() and SORTBY() functions

Thanks for the suggestion and the votes. We will continue to monitor the votes to help prioritize this along with other data connection requests. You may want to add a comment about connecting to SharePoint in the thread discussing PowerQuery.

I saw an improvement by deleting MS office from my MAC and re-installing it. Not a simple task but it was getting unusable.

Thanks for supporting this suggestion with your votes. It’s unlikely that we’ll be able to bring PowerPivot to Excel for Mac, because it relies on features of the operating system that don’t exist on Mac OS. We’ll keep tracking votes, since we know that the scenarios made possible by PowerPivot are important, even if the solution will need to be something else.

Alternatively, a mechanism to just protect the formulas without having to protect the worksheet. There are various work-arounds to this involving data validation on the columns with formulas but that just slows everything down.

You can do this by using a name - here is an example I found https://www.ozgrid.com/Excel/named-formulas.htm
