    I agree, this would be a very useful feature.

    In some of my more complex workbooks, I find myself scrolling back and forth repeatedly to see which columns are associated with each conditional formatting formula (e.g. highlight the cell when the value in column C is less than the value in column AB).

    This would also make it significantly easier to present my work to stakeholders or train another user to work with my more advanced spreadsheets.

    Great suggestion – thanks again for taking the time to put it on this site and for the thoughtful followup comments. This is pretty related to some other work we’ve got going and already has a fair number of votes, so we’ll work on getting plans in place now and hope to get started on this soon.

    Thanks,
    John [MS XL]

    @Anonymous
    If all you want is the APPEARANCE of a null value, you can solve your problem easily using conditional formatting. Create a conditional formatting rule that applies the custom number type of ";;;" (without the quotes) to any cell within the desired range that is equal to zero. This tells Excel to display a blank value. P.S. Can everyone stop antagonizing the developers? I really do want this feature, and I can't imagine us all coming across as a bunch of ***** will help with that.

    This would really help to make some of my more complex workbooks easier to work with and present. Not sure I need the levels to be handled as described above though.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I think I’ve seen some related requests, I’ll look at merging them to make sure the votes properly reflect the ask. We’ll prioritize this into the execution pipe appropriately based on the number of votes.

    Cheers,
    John [MS XL]

    Thanks for the suggestion Nick. We’ve got some related work we’re looking at soon, and we’ll be sure to carefully consider if we can get a fix in for this then. As always, more votes helps – so keep voting for the things you care about most.

    Thanks for the feedback! We’re seeing a number of different posts about lookup functions – we’ll be taking a close look at this area and thinking it through. We’ll prioritize the asks according to votes along with other requests on the site. So I encourage people to keep voting if it’s something they really want to see the priority raised on.

    Best,
    John [MS XL]

    Good news. We are in the planning stages for improving the Unhide Sheet dialog box so that you can select multiple sheets and unhide them at the same time.

    Thanks for supporting this suggestion.
