    Hello,

Thank you for your continued suggestions and votes. We’re currently rolling out a format task pane for charts and are investigating incorporating this feature as we continue to support more formatting capabilities on Excel Web.

    Thanks!

How about not locking the friggen document in the first place??!!! If we wanted that to occur, we would just use the existing check in/check out feature FFS

Thanks for the suggestion Jessica. We’ve got a few other suggestions on the site that are similar with scientific notation, etc. We’ll take a look at this area, and pay special attention to any cases that get a lot of votes. So please keep the votes coming to help us do a good job at prioritizing asks like this!

    Cheers,
    John [MS XL]

As per 'will lassek', if you combine all the other suggestion items on this very topic, it is one of the most voted. Please CORRECT this issue.

P.S. Why do we have to continually clarify for you the difference between a feature/enhancement/improvement opportunity vs a defect???

    Jesus Christ.

Is there a trick to getting F12 to work for files stored in SharePoint online and/or O365?

Since we have moved from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint Online, this no longer works for me. It causes the file to "stay locked to me" but when I clear from my cache to resolve that, my edits are not preserved.

Any tips would be so appreciated!

Great suggestion – CSV hasn’t been an area we’ve been looking into recently, but we’ll reconsider. It looks like this is starting to get some votes fairly quickly. If you like the idea, then please keep the votes coming! That’s the best way to help get this onto our engineering schedule.

    Thanks,
    John [MS XL]

Thank you for taking your time to suggest and vote for allowing interaction with Excel while in Power Query Editor window. We do think that this suggestion has merit but we don’t think that we’ll be able to devote time to it in the near future. We’ll continue tracking votes for it.

Why on earth do you, MS, feel that this is something that "could be quite useful"??? This is something that we shouldn't have to ask for. This is not a "nice to have" or an "improvement opportunity". This is a defect and should be treated accordingly.

I know you have so many legitimate defects that it is likely overwhelming however, that is your own fault.

Please fix your defects, many, if not most, of which worked correctly in prior versions; STOP focusing on your ridiculous, flawed, useless Online program versions. PLEASE. We beg of you. Implore you, even.

This is a great suggestion, and we want to keep the interest going. Thanks to everyone who has already voted and commented on the suggestion to have an option for the default paste behavior in Excel.

Sorry that we’ve been slow to comment and update the status on this one.

I think we can expect more than simply an option to select the default behaviour. Why the **** is Excel literally the only application wherein when I press Ctrl-alt-v, that I cannot simply choose from one of the top 3 pasting options? Those being to merge formatting, retain formatting or paste as plain text only?? It is so frustrating.

Nevermind the fact that a cell in excel will never be an actual blank if at any time in the history of ever that cell was populated. This is ridiculous. Excel is ridiculous. MS is abhorrent.

I have great news to share. We are planning to make the Conditional Formatting Rules Manager and rules dialogs resizable. Thanks for all the votes and comments for this suggestion.

We’ll provide more updates here as we get closer to releasing the update.

Seriously MS? You can't make the conditional formatting pop up box sizable? But it is no problem to have your other pop up boxes sizable? This really doesn't make sense. MS is just such a disappointment. With the advent of comparable, if not superior, products it is a wonder that businesses choose MS at all.
