Thank you for your suggestion to support vertical waterfall charts in Excel. While we don’t expect to devote time to support this in the near future, we will continue tracking votes and comments here, and will keep this suggestion under consideration for future development.

Thank you again, and please continue to share your thoughts!

We are looking at several ways to make formatting easier. This is an interesting approach that we will consider.

There are some limitations with the new chart types introduced in Excel 2016. We are working on addressing the items that you have called out.

    Thanks,

We’ve just merged two items that were both requests for the Median function in PivotTables. One had been for Windows, the other for Mac. When we get to this, we should actually make the addition on all platforms including Windows, Mac, Web, and others.

Thank you for taking the time to share your suggestion to create PowerPoint slides directly from an Excel Sheet!

This this suggestion does has merit; however, we don’t expect to devote time to it in the near future. We will continue tracking votes and comments here, and will keep this suggestion under consideration for future development.

    Thank you again,

@Scott[MSFT] - Did you know that in Excel Ver 5 (1993) you could right click on a sheet and say insert -> Slide

This feature was promptly removed in the next version - because MS realized that nobody would then buy Power point

Thanks for your support of this suggestion and all the great ideas in the comments. We have at least one improvement planned (resizing the dialogs – see link in the description), and we’re looking at some additional improvements.

If you have specific ideas that aren’t already listed, please add them in a comment.

Thanks for your input. This limitation is true for all of the new chart types released in Office 2016; e.g. waterfall, histogram, treemap, etc. This is functionality we are assessing to enable for the new chart types. Please continue to vote on this feature idea.

    Thanks,

Good suggestion Frederic – thanks for taking the time to post it. We’ll take a look at the F4 loop and including other functionality like this as soon as we can. We’ll be spending more time on the things with more votes – so folks that really want to see this should keep voting it up.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I’ve seen some related requests, I’ll look at merging them to make sure the votes properly reflect the ask. We’ll prioritize this into the execution pipe appropriately based on the number of votes.

    Cheers,

    Hi Deepak,

Thanks for logging this issue. I agree this would be quite useful, especially as Power BI is emerging as a hub for business data.

This request is slightly different than what PBI Desktop does. PBI Desktop essentially provides a Live Connect essentially deferring the model to the service and limiting the experience to visualizations so it’s not importing data into the report. So there’re two possible outcomes you could be looking for:
    1. Allow users to import data into Excel as query tables, just like one can from an external store like SQL Server or Oracle. This provides fine grained data retrieval.
    2. Create a new PivotTable that summarizes data on PBI service.

The PBI Publisher addin performs #2. Is that what you’re looking for? Or would you rather have #1 if you had to choose?

Others coming new to this suggestion, please be sure to add your…
