excel on my late 2016 MacBook Pro is using huge amounts of memory. all I'm doing is simple data entry. After opening an online version of excel, I elect to edit it in my copy of excel. It starts out using 150 MB of memory, but then gradually increasing its use of memory until its over 2 GB if I let it go that far. But long before it's using 1 GB, it's generally taking minutes of being unresponsive before I can do anything, so I'm just sitting waiting for it to catch up! I have tried setting autosave to every minute instead of the default 10 minutes, because there have been a number of times where I've lost hours of work, because it was "saving" but never really saving! I'm pretty disgusted with its total lack of performance!
