Thanks for supporting this feature. We won’t be able to in the near future, but we understand that it would be a nice improvement. Even though it seems like a straightforward idea, it is quite complex since named ranges can be dynamic, meaning that the range is calculated when the workbook is calculated.

We’ll continue tracking votes for this suggestion.

This post started in 2015, and remains a problem 5+ years later. Its such an obvious hole in the way conditional formatting works. Clearly MS is ignoring us.

Knock, knock. Hello? ... Microsoft... anyone there? A comment on when this will be addressed would be of value. If things are tight and you need donations, we might be able to start up a GoFundMe page.

As near as I can tell, development and maintenance on all things Excel must be back burner at MS.

I recently migrated to Excel 365 and was hoping to see some improvement on things like this as well as the way it flashes a chunk of video memory to the screen when running an intense macro, as well as what appears to be a memory leak causing Excel to slow way down after doing several macro runs.

No such luck. There has been no improvement on conditional formatting in Excel 365, nor flickering, nor oddities tied to memory usage. It is worse than ever. If MS is not careful they will lose the corner of the market like they did on internet browsers... just sayin'

Same here - I use a macro but believe the real solution lies in MS modifying conditional formatting to allow names ranges

    Hi all,

Thank you for taking your time to suggest and vote for adding Get Parameter button to Power Query. We do think that this suggestion has merit but we don’t think that we’ll be able to devote time to it in the near future. We’ll continue tracking votes for it.

    Thanks,
