Remember that you can also add names that are functions. So you can select a cell and instead of selecting a cell or range you can actually select something like this+a1+a2 and if you name this "additions" every time you type =additions you will get the sum of the relative cells A1+A2 or exactly that if your formula is $a$1+$a$2. Doing this with various formulas and functions you can build very complex functions

I believe it's a simple item in the character map, yet it's very hard to find the check mark. I think that being a spreadsheet, a checkmark is very important and it should have a button. I made a macro for it but I shouldn't have to. Conditional formatting is not good enough (too hard)

When making a plot, excel has an algorithm that will sometimes show bottom border near the data, and sometimes the bottom border will be at zero. It's impossible to know where the bottom border will be. On the same chart which uses data that varies by a small amount, sometimes the bottom border will be on the zero axis and sometimes, the bottom border of the chart will be near the chart values. Sometimes it's desired to always have the border near the x axis and sometimes it's desired for it to be near the data. Setting the maximum and minimums instead of auto will not work because sometimes the data will be cut off from the chart.

Thanks everyone for all of the passion about this suggestion! The number of votes has increased greatly in the last couple months and we’re taking notice! We’ve got a bunch of other Excel endpoints behaving this way already and we’re evaluating getting it done in the Windows versions sooner based on the number of votes it gets – so keep the votes coming!

There was a version of excel that when you pasted a list would sold show. If you wanted to paste values you pressed v and it did it. no more steps. That version may be 97 but it only lasted a short time and I loved that ability. I think it was a right click but it was very efficient.
