    This would be very useful. It could have same inputs as trend function but be called interpolate. There could be different interpolation methods but allowing the one that is used for smooth scatter plot would be very very helpful. There are similar requests and suggestions made elsewhere.

    Fully agree a native interpolation function that this would be extremely useful and widely used. There could be different interpolation methods supported including the one used to create smooth excel scatter plots.
    One thing to think about is whether it could support surface interpolation as well as vectors.

    Exposing the same logic used in the scatter plot function when it either uses linear interpolation or smooth interpolation to create lines joining scatter points as a function would be very helpful. This function could have a simple interface as suggested in opening post and would be widely used.

    Agree this would be a good option to add in scatter plots for exploratory analysis. Additionaly supp
    orting in a new function with inputs similar the Trend() would be very useful

    Having the same iimputs as the very useful Trend() function but instead call it Interpolate() and expose the same methods as used in Smooth scatter plot

    Thank you to all those participated in our survey. What an amazing number of responses, many of them with very deep content. We’re processing the over ten thousand responses(!), and already appreciate the time so many of you took to answer with passion and experience.

    Please know this survey is used to help influence various topics – both on Python as well as other related topics that the comments started to bleed into. Given the passion, I want to be clear this remains an area of exploration for us, without any specific timeline.

    We’ll provide updates as we progress on this feature request.
