Thanks for the further details on Bullet charts. The Wikipedia article is a good reference. As we plan the next release, we’ll definitely consider this new chart type.

    Thanks,
    Scott [MSFT]

I'm not the original poster, but I'd like to see a bullet chart that looks like the examples here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullet_graph

Ideally they would be available as both a normal chart, and also as a sparkline. I think that a sparkline bullet chart would be the most useful.

Thanks to everyone who commented on this topic. This is certainly an idea that we’ll consider, but in the meantime, I wanted to mention that if you can’t see all the sheet tabs, you can right-click on the navigation arrows to bring up the “Activate” dialog, which gives a scrollable list of the sheets, so you can select the one you want and navigate to it. I know it’s not exactly what’s being suggested.

As with other ideas, we’ll look to see how many people vote on this, so vote for it if this is an area you want to see improved.

    Thanks,
    Steve (MS Excel)

Interesting thought, but I'm not a fan of this idea.

I think that we need to be going in the other direction, i.e. one version of Excel regardless of your platform (e.g. Windows, iOS, Android), and regardless of your Office 365 subscription (e.g. home, business, etc.).

All features should be available to all users, and if you don't need to make use of some things, then just don't use them. I think that the "Home" ribbon does a reasonable job providing access to the features that basic users need.

I posted a similar idea here...

    http://excel.uservoice.com/forums/304921-excel-for-windows-desktop-application/suggestions/8837515-office-documents-workbook

It's only received 2 votes since July (including my own) - so I'm not hopeful.

Perhaps a moderator could merge the ideas, and we'll get it up to 4 votes!

Good idea. The warning should also cover any references to the range name that the cell(s) might contain.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I’ve seen some related requests, I’ll look at merging them to make sure the votes properly reflect the ask. We’ll prioritize this into the execution pipe appropriately based on the number of votes.

    Cheers,

I posted an idea to change the formula bar colour, which I think is what Col Delane is referring to:

    http://excel.uservoice.com/forums/304921-excel-for-windows-desktop-application/suggestions/8837611-formula-bar-should-change-colour-when-not-all-info

The intention of my idea was to ensure users don't overlook parts of the formula that can't be seen, which I think is the intention of this idea as well. So you might want to merge my idea into this one.

Thanks for the feedback. We are exploring the possibility of adding a time playback axis to all native charts in a future release. Please continue to vote on this feature idea.

It can also be annoying when text bleeds into the next cell on the right (if the cell on the right is empty), rather than just cutting off the text.
