Steve K [MS Excel]
Hey Steve K!
The shouting of our community has become deafening.
At least give us a feedback on planned delivery date/reasons for delay/abandonment of development.
It is possible.
But you will have to wait for decades.
Or become Microsoft's biggest shareholder.
They haven't even planned to do the development.
The issue is "Accepting votes" since at least 2016.
And Steve K doesn't even bother to answer.
Combined votes for Power Pivot + Power Query (same stuff) = 5170. Next issue: 664
Hey Steve K (and the rest of Microsoft), we are SHOUTING. Stop playing deaf.
At least tell us you are not going to develop it.
Steve K's (MS Excel development team) last response regarding this issue is from march 2018!
We, the paying customers, have shown eloquently how important PowerPivot is for Mac Excel users (combined votes for Power Query and Power Pivot exceed by far any other issue).
After another 365 days of waiting, I think the least we deserve is a delivery schedule or a confession about indefinite postponement of this development.
Dear Steve K: This is a huge issue por me. I love my Mac and this is forcing me to install VMWare and a second (windows) version of Excel to keep compatibility with coworkers. Other comments have suggested that we have a right to be on equal terms with Windows users, since we pay similar prices for Excel. Being this the second most voted request, please submit at least a hint of a possible timetable for deployment.
Very definitely: It is not fair to keep us waiting for this feature!
We are pleased to announce that the first set of Power Query features are now available in version 16.29 and greater. At this stage you can refresh from text, CSV, XLSX, JSON and XML files.
Refer to the following blog post for more details:
I encourage you to try the new functionality and share your feedback with us via Send a Smile/Frown at the top right corner in your Excel for Mac.
Dear forum fellows,
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT POWER QUERY IS NOT POWER PIVOT.
IF YOU NEED POWER PIVOT PLEASE VOTE FOR THAT DEVELOPMENT, WHICH MICROSOFT, AFTER ALL THESE YEARS AND VOTES, IS NOT EVEN PLANING TO DEVELOP!!!!!
At least get the assignment of macros to keystroke combinations into working conditions for BOTH EXCEL AND WORD. A VBA macro doesn't help too much if you cannot get it to work faster than doing the same stuff by hand.
