I'm surprised that this has so few votes;I was going to raise this myself but since this is already here, I've voted for it. I think that one of the reasons is that so few people use styles, and one of the reasons that they don't use styles are (a) They don't "cascade" the way Word styles can (where you can base a style on another style, which can be based on another style, resulting in a change at the top of the tree flowing down. Themes are only a partial solution to this), and (b) Because they can't be used for conditional formatting. In my view the second is the greatest impediment to more people adopting styles.

Thanks for the feedback! We’re seeing a number of different posts about lookup functions – we’ll be taking a close look at this area and thinking it through. We’ll prioritize the asks according to votes along with other requests on the site. So I encourage people to keep voting if it’s something they really want to see the priority raised on.

Thanks for all of the votes – the team has definitely taken notice of the activity around this issue. We moved to SDI as a result of customer requests, but it looks like we’ve got work to do to really nail the use cases people care about. From a read over the comments, I see a number of cases that we will want to investigate further as we think through MDI vs SDI. We’ll get someone from the team to take a deeper look, and we may reach out to some of you for more clarification as we go. Thanks again for all the voting and passion here!
I would recommend centralising the votes to restore our option on the one thread. This seems to be the leading thread to daye: https://excel.uservoice.com/forums/304921-excel-for-windows-desktop-application/suggestions/11706627-restore-mdi-file-handling-open-all-files-in-one-w
This ranks #2 to the removal of Recent Folders in "Bad ideas that the Office development team have had". Maybe #3 after removing offline help; I'm not sure, it's such a long list. Tell me something Microsoft, I want to have four spreadsheets open, stacked on top of one another, looking for patterns within the data. Would you care to upgrade me to a wall projector so that I have enough vertical space (after you take into account all of the ribbon bumpf at the top of each window) to do that? MDI needs to be restored.
