Good news. We are in the planning stages for improving the Unhide Sheet dialog box so that you can select multiple sheets and unhide them at the same time.

    Thanks for supporting this suggestion.

Look at how you select gear in video games:

Pres something to open a (radial)menu or list, hover your mouse over the item you need and let loose.

Pres and hold the "select sheet" button to open a drop-down list with all the sheets. Let the mouse loose when the desired sheet is highlighted.

    Bonus points:

Add a filter to sort alphabetically, most/last used and the same order as the sheets are. Hover your mouse over the filter button once to select the filter and hover you mouse over it again to revert the filter.

This is a great suggestion, and we want to keep the interest going. Thanks to everyone who has already voted and commented on the suggestion to have an option for the default paste behavior in Excel.

Sorry that we’ve been slow to comment and update the status on this one.

You can get it working with some VBA coding. But getting the error handler right is pain. Still working on it.

Thanks for the support and the detailed discussion around this suggestion. We understand that there are some advantages and disadvantages with both MDI (multi-document interface) and SDI (single-document interface), and we currently do not have plans to revert to MDI. We do want to improve the experience with SDI so you can get your work done efficiently, and this post has helped toward that goal.

Some of the specific issues mentioned are addressed as follows:
    – Stability: This has been a focus over the past several years, and the monthly releases in 2020 have been among the most reliable ever in terms of avoiding crashes.
    - Screen space – while it won’t get all the space back, you can minimize the ribbon to save some space. It only shows when needed.
    - Navigation between workbooks: you can use CTRL+F6, SHIFT+CTRL+F6, CTRL+TAB or SHIFT+CTRL+TAB to switch to the next workbook. …

    I just got redirected here.

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_word-msoffice_custom-mso_2016/office-2016-one-formula-bar-multiple-open/b6b1d3b1-b0aa-4706-94b9-f17daa4d6995?messageId=9d9f36ae-07e1-4022-927b-2cb3c14c2096

It toke some pro paint skills to before people understood me 😋

Office needs an "open tab in new frame" , open tab in existing frame and open in new instants.

When I work on large spreadsheet I would love to view a part or of that sheet or parts of other sheets on my second monitor. You can with 2013 and 2016. But if you want to look at a single screen the screen get filled right full of instances with multiple formula bars and buttons that take up way to much space. The split screen is way to limited as you can't navigate freely.

With 2010 and older you can't work on 2 monitors because you need 2 ribbons/formula bars. On in each screen.

Using a lot of VBA here. I love dragging and reorganizing my screens to way I desire at that moment.

Make it flexible. Excel is more then filling cells on single sheet on a single monitor. Some people move around. A lot !

The guys filling the sheets I make love it. But I really hade making spreadsheets with 50+tabs. Navigations and going back and forth is horrible.

Thanks very much for your votes. And to those who took the time to fill in the survey, thank you! This is a brief update to let y’all know that we’ve started work on this feature request along with the one on changing numbers to scientific notation.

I’m happy to let you know that we are in the planning stages to make Excel for Windows scroll without jumping to the edge of the cell so you’ll be able to scroll smoothly. We don’t yet have a target date, but wanted to tell you about our plans.

We appreciate all the votes and comments supporting this suggestion.

    Thanks – Steve K [Excel]

I just ran in to this problem again. An index(match was looking in a few long wide columns with a lot of text/rows. I can't fit all the text READABLE on my high res screen. I don't want to alter the CHAR(10) formatting or Alt+Enter on hundreds off cells.

I ended up exporting it all to Google spreadsheets and modify it from there. All because some black magician cursed Excel and all there software wizards are scared to be turned in to tout.

Sincerely a ****** of mechanical software engineer something IT'is wizard apprentice,

    Koen.
