Could you provide some additional examples or use cases where you need more than 255 series? We want to better understand the scenarios of usage.

This is my need also, thanks -- I was going to suggest at least 4096 elements. My charts show the path of a robot, including spots where it has scanned the walls around it and the points it has seen that represent the walls. This leads to a lot of data; more if I use macros to synthesize line segments (with linear regression) from the points it has seen. At this point I need to make several charts for a single run of the robot (the chart runs out of space after about a minute's worth of data) -- it would be great to have all the data on a single chart.
On the other hand, Excel is a terrific product -- I'd never be able to do the display and analysis I can without it; the chart combined with VBA is a great tool.
