    This is critical, particularly in situations such as right now where the sync has broken between online and desktop apps so I have whole teams unable to work because they can't open files in Excel Desktop OR Excel Online. No point offering an online option as a redundancy if it can't function when needed with only modest complexity.

    We have started rolling out support for workbook links to Excel for the Web. You’ll know you have it if you see the “Workbook links” button on your Data tab. Most of you should have it by now.

    To create new workbook links, copy from the source workbook and right click/paste links in the destination workbook.
