A more obvious prompt would be nice. For large files, autosave slows things to a crawl even on very high end equipment. However, when I turn autosave off and get in the zone, I keep loosing my work when excel crashes. Give me an option to ask for promtpts

This is especially important for shared files over 30 MB. When we get the error "Sorry, we can't open your workbook in Excel Online because it exceeds the 30 MB file size limit" we need an option to "open in excel" or else the shared file can't be accessed at all

Great suggestion – thanks again for taking the time to put it on this site and for the thoughtful followup comments. This is pretty related to some other work we’ve got going and already has a fair number of votes, so we’ll work on getting plans in place now and hope to get started on this soon.

    Thanks,
    John [MS XL]

I agree with the last two comments that more ways to make a cell empty will add complexity. However, this is absolutely necessary in certain situations. Please see the comment by Daniel smith below.

We’ve just merged two items that were both requests for the Median function in PivotTables. One had been for Windows, the other for Mac. When we get to this, we should actually make the addition on all platforms including Windows, Mac, Web, and others.
