Thanks to Graham for starting this conversation. If you would also like Excel to maintain named range references and structured table references in the “applies to” field for Conditional Formatting rules, please add your comments and vote this one up. We will prioritize accordingly.

    Thanks,
    Steve (MS Excel)

Thanks everyone for all of the passion about this suggestion! The number of votes has increased greatly in the last couple months and we’re taking notice! We’ve got a bunch of other Excel endpoints behaving this way already and we’re evaluating getting it done in the Windows versions sooner based on the number of votes it gets – so keep the votes coming!

Don't think O365 support will touch the client apps. I've tried before with other Excel issues but good luck to you and be sure to reply if you hear anything useful!!

Thanks very much for your votes. And to those who took the time to fill in the survey, thank you! This is a brief update to let y’all know that we’ve started work on this feature request along with the one on changing numbers to scientific notation.

@Robert - This just provides access to the file versions. The original post specifically wants to see *what* has been changed (not just versions). The problem is that using versions means the user has to open both versions and play spot the difference to work out what has been changed (sometimes across several versions!).

Agree. This is inconsistent and confusing to many of our users. The protect sheet option has different button text depending if its on or off (Protect Sheet / Unprotect Sheet), but the Protect Workbook button is a toggle button the greys out to indicate if its on or off and the text never changes (Protect Workbook).

I'm not too bothered about having the option of *editing* text orientation in the browser, but at least having it display correctly when previewing files read only in Excel Online is a must have. All our docs look wonky at the moment!

Great suggestion E Bow. Thanks for taking the time to tell us about changes you’d like to see – we’re listening. We’ll take a look at this one. As always, folks should keep voting for the things they like the most – we’ll generally be prioritizing things according to the number of votes they get.

    Cheers,
    John [MS XL]
