Good news. We are in the planning stages for improving the Unhide Sheet dialog box so that you can select multiple sheets and unhide them at the same time.

    Thanks for supporting this suggestion.

Thank you for taking your time to suggest and vote for this. We do think that this suggestion has merit, but we don’t think that we’ll be able to devote time to it in the near future. We’ll continue tracking votes for it so we know how it ranks among the other suggestions.

This is a great suggestion, and we want to keep the interest going. Thanks to everyone who has already voted and commented on the suggestion to have an option for the default paste behavior in Excel.

Sorry that we’ve been slow to comment and update the status on this one.

@Wyn, the QAT icons do not show colour when the using the DARK GRAY or BLACK themes, regardless of being located above or below the ribbon. This is the whole point of the request. Colourful QAT icons when the theme is dark. The QAT is already below the ribbon, as it allows more icons, the file name is visible, and the QAT icons are in the same relative position to the cells whether the ribbon is displayed or hidden (my preference).
@kigayo, I find having the QAT under the ribbon to be a better location, especially as the ribbon is generally hidden and there are 60 odd icons on my QAT, the best I can do to replicate the pre-ribbon interface without installing add-ins or other software. I also use keyboard shortcuts for the other items, more than the ribbon.

@Chris, yes that works, but the whole point of the suggestion is to have the coloured icons work for the dark themes, much as it did/does for office 2010.

I have been using office 2010 recently at a client's site. The QAT icons are coloured in this version, even with the dark theme. This makes selecting the correct icon a breeze. Please change the later versions to be similar to 2010 in this regard. The reduced size of the icons in 2010, is also favourable.

For those of you who want a stripped down interface, learn about the quick access toolbar (QAT), and set this up, then hide the ribbon. Also learn the shortcut keys for the functions you use regularly. My Excel setup has 56 QAT buttons, with Word being similar. I do dislike the ribbon, but have found this solution is very useful and similar tot he 2003 setup. There have been many features and improvements to the functionality of the program in the last 15 years of use. I have found the changes that 2013 and 2016 brought in are good.

If you really have that much of an issue with the animation of the selection box moving between cells and other such items, most of these can be turned off. There is plenty of information out there on how to do this.

Yes there are some annoying features, but for a program that sees such widespread usage, not everyone can be pleased.

If you really want a simple version for the "stupid" people in your workplace, setup the workbook with protections to ensure the format, formulas, etc cannot be changed. Put a how to use sheet at the front and format colour the input cells that a user should use.

Kenneth, thanks for being a voice of reason. A pity there is not a negaive vote button.
