Here are the steps that you need to be followed to enable protect cell feature in excel:
    • At first open the Excel files and go to the Review tab.
    • After that hit on the Protect Sheet. A Protect Sheet window will appear; here you have to enter a password to protect the Excel sheet and any of the other actions.
    • Tap to the OK option to enable the cell protection.

To fix Excel cells overlapping the very first solution which I want to suggest you to try format cell option.

    • Choose those Excel cells in which you are getting this Excel cells overlapping issues.
    • From the context menu hit the Format Cells.

    • From the opened Format Cells dialog box, hit the Alignment option. In the text alignment you will see a horizontal option from its drop-down list choose the Fill.

    • Hit the OK button. After that, won’t get Excel cells overlapping issue anymore.

Yes you can improve your Excel workbook performance just by making few changes in your working style.

    • Use Helper Columns
    • Convert Unused Formulas to Values
    • Avoid Using Entire Row/Column in References
    • Prevent Volatile Functions
    • Use Excel Tables and Named Ranges
    • Use Faster Formula Techniques
    • Disable all Excel add-ins
    • Keep All Referenced Data in One Sheet
    • Use Conditional Formatting with Caution
    • Divide the workbook into Several Files
    • Use Manual Calculation Mode

To get detail on, how to perform these above-listed tasks you need to check this post link:

Good suggestion Frederic – thanks for taking the time to post it. We’ll take a look at the F4 loop and including other functionality like this as soon as we can. We’ll be spending more time on the things with more votes – so folks that really want to see this should keep voting it up.

    Best,
