The online version of Excel needs to support the same events generated on the desktop version of Excel. This is important for using the same Office Apps on both the desktop and on the web version of Excel.

The web version of Excel API needs methods to set and unset protection in Excel like on the desktop using web languages like JavaScript, Jquery, etc.

Need events for the Web version of Excel

The following list of events found on the client version of Excel would aid in development of apps that work the same as current client addin apps work.
    Excel Open Event
    Excel Close Event
    Excel beforeClose event
    Excel Save Event
    Excel SaveAs event
    Excel BeforeSave Event
    Workbook activate event
Other standard events found on the desktop version of Excel
