It's possible to do this already if you create range names for each data series and your X-axis labels that are defined as =A5#
If you set the scope of your range names to the relevant worksheet (NOT workbook, which is the default), you can then define the source for your chart series and X-axis values as =SheetName!RangeName
So while it's possible, I agree that it's not particularly obvious for the average user and could certainly be much simpler ... so it's still a good suggestion!

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I’ve seen some related requests, I’ll look at merging them to make sure the votes properly reflect the ask. We’ll prioritize this into the execution pipe appropriately based on the number of votes.
Cheers,

Totally agree! MMULT is a terrible solution to such a simple problem! Thanks for suggesting this Charles!

Hi all,
Thank you for taking your time to suggest and vote for adding Get Parameter button to Power Query. We do think that this suggestion has merit but we don’t think that we’ll be able to devote time to it in the near future. We’ll continue tracking votes for it.
Thanks,
Guy Hunkin

Thanks for the suggestion! We’re fans of Regex and its ability to parse text too.
If you’d like to see Regex support in Excel, please keep the votes rolling in.

Good suggestion Frederic – thanks for taking the time to post it. We’ll take a look at the F4 loop and including other functionality like this as soon as we can. We’ll be spending more time on the things with more votes – so folks that really want to see this should keep voting it up.
Best,

We have good news. We’re in the planning stages to show the cell selection even when the Excel window is not the active window.
Thanks for supporting this suggestion.

While it's possible to simulate corkscrew functionality using Dynamic Array functions ( https://accessanalytic.com.au/corkscrew-calculations-using-dynamic-array-functions/ ), I agree that this is a pretty ugly and unnecessarily complex solution so would rather support your idea (or the ACCUMULATE function Peter mentioned below) and have these built into Excel.
There needs to be a simple solution to this problem and it is currently a significant omission that prevents dynamic arrays from being used as they should be in financial modelling.
