This is a great suggestion, and we want to keep the interest going. Thanks to everyone who has already voted and commented on the suggestion to have an option for the default paste behavior in Excel.

Sorry that we’ve been slow to comment and update the status on this one.

Thanks for all your support of this request. We are taking a close look at this along with the related requests about maintaining leading zeros when entering values in cells, and to stop changing values to scientific notation.

We know these are important issues, so thanks for all the comments and votes.

Thanks very much for your votes. And to those who took the time to fill in the survey, thank you! This is a brief update to let y’all know that we’ve started work on this feature request along with the one on changing numbers to scientific notation.

Thanks for supporting this feature. We won’t be able to offer this in the near future, but we understand that it would be a nice improvement. Even though it seems like a straightforward idea, it is quite complex. Old versions of Excel will not support the new behavior, so there would need to be some hybrid approach that will be suitable for old and new versions. Also, named ranges can be dynamic, meaning that the range might change and conditional formatting rules would have to be adjusted when the workbook is calculated. There are lots of cases to consider and deal with properly.

We’ll continue tracking votes for this suggestion.

Or just that it understands the concept of a TABLE. I want the rule to look down the column(s) in the whole table. So that if you add a row....yes, the rule also applies to that new row. (I guess that tables are a type of dynamic range? I don't know.)

Thanks for supporting this suggestion with your votes. It’s unlikely that we’ll be able to bring PowerPivot to Excel for Mac, because it relies on features of the operating system that don’t exist on Mac OS. We’ll keep tracking votes, since we know that the scenarios made possible by PowerPivot are important, even if the solution will need to be something else.

Hi all! We are happy to let you know that in addition to refreshing your data from supported sources, you can now import data from local files such as Excel workbooks, and Text and CSV files with Power Query in Excel for Mac. This new functionality is available to Beta channel users running version 16.50 (build 21050400) or later.
You can check out the blog for this new feature here: https://insider.office.com/en-us/blog/import-data-from-local-files-with-power-query-in-excel-for-mac

Thank you for taking your time to suggest and vote for allowing interaction with Excel while in Power Query Editor window. We do think that this suggestion has merit but we don’t think that we’ll be able to devote time to it in the near future. We’ll continue tracking votes for it.
