Thanks very much for your votes. And to those who took the time to fill in the survey, thank you! This is a brief update to let y’all know that we’ve started work on this feature request.

Please, we need two things:
1. Excel should show numbers as entered by default and only show them scientifically if I change the cell format to scientific. The majority of excel users (me uncluded) are not scientists.
2. Excel should immediately change the display of all cells where I change the cell format. Problem is, that I can change the cell format from "Default" to "text" but it won't show the full number unless I click throuch each cell with my mouse. Having 20,000 cells in a row makes this a tedious job! (I know there are alternatives, but this should have been a no-brainer ...)Daniel commented
Seriously, who the fuck came up with this stupid conversion? There are exactly two kind of people who MAYBE need this: Mathematician and Physicists. And I am 100% sure, they don't use Excel for their calculations. When I import a number like 10245780021, I want it to fucking be 10245780021!Daniel supported this idea ·

Thank you to all those participated in our survey. What an amazing number of responses, many of them with very deep content. We’re processing the over ten thousand responses(!), and already appreciate the time so many of you took to answer with passion and experience.
Please know this survey is used to help influence various topics – both on Python as well as other related topics that the comments started to bleed into. Given the passion, I want to be clear this remains an area of exploration for us, without any specific timeline.
We’ll provide updates as we progress on this feature request.
