support form controls
support form controls for Android
We have enabled workbooks on Android that contain Form Controls (and ActiveX controls) to open on the device and show a placeholder where the Form/ActiveX control exists in the workbook. While those controls will be shown as placeholders, they will roundtrip correctly so that you can edit the rest of your workbook (unlike today where we block display of the workbook).

I need to open files with Form Controls. I have a "flagship" 950XL. Very disappointed that not only are 3rd party apps not fully baked (or non existent) but even MS apps are not ready for release. This should be a TOP priority for Microsoft. With all the hype around Continum and using your phone more like a laptop or to leave your computer in the bag this stuff needs to work. I don't need to add, edit, or even use the controls. I just need to open the file to view it.
I cannot open the file in the Android version as well.

I just upgraded a lumia 930 (wp8.1) for a lumia 950 (wp10) and excel can't open files that i could before. Windows phones are already far enough behind everyone else and now they are behind their own older model. This is absurd!

Have to admit I do not understand this at all. Forms Control (in view mode only, I do not need to change it) works perfect on a iPhone/iPad, others tell me it also works on a Android.
Then, why can't I even open the files in a "view only mode" on a Microsoft Phone.
You need to solve this ASAP, or create a simple "Excell viewer app" and put it in the store.

I work with several Form Controls and ActiveX controls in budgets I write for my job. I bought this phone particularly to take advantage of having a phone that could be a mobile office. But I am displeased that excel can't even open any of my budgets. I know you guys are some of the best of the best engineers. I am a MCSE, MCP, A+, and C+ professional as well, and this really sells one of your flagship softwares short. One would think with all the mobile competition, MS would make fully functional software programs. Please get a fix for this, I know many industry professionals that would use the heck out of this.

I think this is similar. I have a spreadsheet to record workouts. It has a form to run a macro that will add a row with some pre-populated data, such as exercise and date. It can't be opened in Excel Online. The issue was referenced here:

Other office apps on Android allow this feature but not Microsoft Excel!
This version does not support simple drop down list. I dont need to edit, just view.
