support form controls
support form controls for Android
We have enabled workbooks on Android that contain Form Controls (and ActiveX controls) to open on the device and show a placeholder where the Form/ActiveX control exists in the workbook. While those controls will be shown as placeholders, they will roundtrip correctly so that you can edit the rest of your workbook (unlike today where we block display of the workbook).
You cannot interact with form controls on any mobile device. This is very limiting, especially when trying to input data while out in the field.
I've utilized the Samsung Galaxy 10 tablet, ipad, and my iphone without it working. Disappointing all around.
After coming across many comments like this, and in other forums, and wanting to port my personal speaking workbook to something a lot lighter, I finally gave in and bought a Windows based tablet.I found one with a decent price (not a MS tablet). I set it up as a standard Windows display because I had nothing but problems with the MS "tablet" display. It's the only way I've found to deal with Excel on a tablet..
I have a need to use the check box for a program I am making our Warehouse. We want to use tablets but it does not work on them. Says this version of Excel does not support running or interacting with form controls. This is a necessity. Please let me know if you plan on fixing this issue. Thank you.
I WANT TO USE INTERACTIVE CHECK BOX FOR MY PACKING LIST ITEM.
AFTER DONE PACKING ITEM, I CAN TICK THE BOX IT ABLE IN PC
BUT I WANT TO TICK IN MY MOBILE PHONE, WHICH SHOWN ERROR:
this version of excel does not support running or interacting with form controls
But I would like to utilise the form control on the sheet, not just work around it
Hi, I am using an Android tablet and it's not working either. We receive the same response as everyone else.
"this version of excel does not support running or interacting with form controls"
No new updates either for Excel.

Form Control still doesn't work on Excel mobile app. Even read that it worked in previous version, so downloaded it, and guess what, it doesn't work either. I have a spreadsheet that I have to use in the field that I have to take my laptop out to use it because it has drop-down boxes and it won't work on my Android. Such an inconvenience!! Come on MS get this right!
You haven't solved this at all!
How is this completed??... All you did was state the obvious, that form controls don't actually work right now. It would be completed if the form controls were FUNCTIONAL... Looks like over 2 years of inquiry about this and still no effort to address it. I'm using an android tablet to run an excel spreadsheet, but I'm also a Windows phone user and this is exactly what is wrong with Microsoft: no real support. This is such a basic thing. I understand if AxctiveX doesn't work but form controls are native to Excel... Facepalming right now.

I am getting an error message which says "This version of Excel doesn't support running or interacting with Form controls". There are checkboxes in the workbook which I am unable to view. Please tell me what should I do. I am using an Android mobile phone. I really cannot carry my heavy laptop all the time. The smartphone is way more convenient for me.
Could you please explain what you mean by placeholders. I have a Lenovo Tab 4 10 and when I open an excel file with form controls, I still get the exclamation marks in the cells with controls on them.
can you activate the spinner button on Form Control for tablets paaallleeese!
When will form controls be available for excel mobile? Our business advancement depends on you!
Can form controls now be used on Android?
Still waiting on this feature to be enabled. A lot of money thrown into devices, simple things like this should not be an issue. Maybe switching to google sheets and re-creating the workbook is the way to go and cut Microsoft out of the equations

What about IPhone????????????????????
Get it together!
Come on Microsoft, don’t force us to live in the past and carry laptops around. Tablets are here to stay so make sure your product functionality is implemented fully on these devices. My iPad Pro is significantly more processor capable than many laptops so there’s not really any excuse for not implementing this
So, when can we expect mobile EXCEL to process Form Controls?
On My iPad Pro I am getting this message ' this version of excel does not support running or interacting with form controls. I really need to use this program for my work. What can I do to remedy this?
