  2. Allow images to be inserted/embedded into comments and notes.

Please allow this desperately requested feature, as most Microsoft Excel users need to annotate their spreadsheets with images.

For example, I have a spreadsheet comparing possible travel routes for a trip I am planning. I would like to insert a screenshot of a receipt into a comment/note so I can easily "hide" it or view/"show" it, as needed.

The value of having images within comments/notes is that they will remain linked to the associated box. This would be extremely helpful for spreadsheets containing multiple images.

  4. Support Internet Query Connection (.iqy files)

It would be helpful for Excel to Mac to support internet query connections.

When exporting a list from Sharepoint, the .iqy file is downloaded, which I subsequently can't open in Excel for Mac.

  8. Allow 'Refresh All' Functionality in the Data Tab to pull fresh data from External Sources like Windows allows

Excel on IOS currently does not support the functionality to pull data from external sources e.g Stock prices, FX Rates , table imports from the web.

  9. Change encoding for pivot tables

On Mac office, you cannot change the encoding for MySQL pivot tables.

  10. Provide data get and tranform including JSON to Excel transformation

This feature is provided with Windows Excel 2016 but not with Mac. Isn't it time to make the Mac software a first-class citizen with Microsoft. It seems like forever that Microsoft started supporting Mac Office, yet it still does not have all the features. Why not? I am paying you every month. Yet you still don't provide many advanced features. I will consider Pages then.

  12. the excel auto save is slow to up date as changes are made. Should improve this process to respond quickly

excel should be able to import word or power point docs to intergrate together.
This would allow to produce solid intergrated documents & presentations.
This option should be available to insert excel sheets/tables into word documents as well.

  15. When opening a CSV file, make Excel recognise it as a CSV file!

Currently when I import data from a CSV file, Excel doesn't recognise that it is CSV even though the file name ends in ".csv"! I have to tell the program that the data file has delimited fields and define the separator as comma for it to import the data correctly. Surely this is basic stuff for a program like Excel?

  18. Allow users to set the default format to use for cut and paste

Currently if I paste data into Excel from the internet or another workbook, the default is to use the source format. If I set the preferences to display format options, I can then select an option to display the data in the destination format. I have to do this every time, but I ALWAYS want to display the data in the destination format - so I need to be able to reset the default to use destination format, but I cannot change this. You need to make the default format user-defined.

  19. Display import dialog box when open csv file

When I open a CSV file directly from the Finder and open it with Excel, I have not the possibility to select separator, column format or file encoding.

It will be very nice if you add the possibility (e.g.: Excel preferences) to open the Import dialog box for give the possibility to configure how to open correctly the CSV file
