  2. Add ability to highlight active row/column

Add the ability to highlight the active row and column that we've currently clicked on; would be useful for both windows and mac

  3. Make Excel (and all Office products) for Mac feature-identical with their Windows counterparts

You asked for specifics. This is as specific as it gets.

Windows and Mac versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote should be 100% feature-identical. No exceptions, no differences, no excuses.

"We can't do it all at once."

Of course you can. You developed those features for Excel for Windows, and released that software. The development work has already been done.

  4. Enable functions across Excel for PC and Mac

    1. Ribbon for Excel
    2. Sunburst charts and Tree graphs - every graphic that can be done using PC but not Excel for Mac
    3. Interpolation
    4. Function keys
    5. Thousands more examples
    6. If Microsoft intends to keep Office for Mac and Excel for Mac a vastly inferior product than Office/Excel for PC, the company should own that and adjust both pricing and expectations.
    7. Also, produce a usable document which clearly documents all omitted features so users don't waste time learning to use a new feature only to discover separately Microsoft's profit-driven decision to ignore the customer needs. …

  5. Insert photos into comment box!!!

Not sure why this option isn't available, completely leaving your customer base out to hang with a feature I used when I had PC...

  6. Selecting a cell with Mouse doesn't always work

I have a great deal of trouble with the mouse click in Excel (Version 15.22). I have to move the mouse out of the cell I'm working in, click on a cell far away from it several times, and then come back and try it again.

This is never an issue with Excel (Version 14.6.4). I'd like to use the later version but it's too difficult to use with the cell selection issue.

We are working on a known issue where selection is not aligned correctly if you are using Page Layout View and you have some rows set to repeat on all pages. If you scroll down beyond page one, sometimes the selection becomes misaligned. If you are seeing problems in other scenarios, it would be helpful to provide a more detailed description of what you’re seeing and the steps that lead up to the issue.

You can submit feedback including screen shots by clicking the Smiley face button near the top right corner of the Excel window. You could also ask a question on https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_excel, which may help determine exactly what steps cause the issue.

  7. touch bar - highlighting

In the touch bar for Mac make that the function highlight "remember" the last color, like in the ribbon. Specially because the usual bright yellow does not appear in the touch bar menu of colors! Same for font color in touch bar.
This would make a lot easier and helpful to use the touch bar to format cells

  9. Allow us to recover our Excel Passwords!!!!!!

It is NOT okay that if a password is forgotten we cannot retrieve them in any way. If you find the need to password protect your spreadsheet, odds are that it is VERY important. What good is it that you cannot retrieve a forgotten password??? Not acceptable.

  11. Make autosave work correctly. Also provide adequate help info.

Autosave does not work correctly -- autosaved versions are corrupt
    and no warnings are issued
    (A) Make autosave work correctly
    (B) Issue some warning online that it is not working correctly
    (C) Existing online help from Microsoft does not even tell you the
correct folder where the autosaved files reside -- causes
big waste of user time trying to diagnose problem

Excel for mac 2011 Version 14.6.9
    OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 (15G1004)

The correct folder in which files are autosaved:

  13. ALT key ribbon access

The ability to utilize the ALT keys to access any button or command on the ribbon greatly improves productivity on the PC versions of excel. Implementing this feature on the Mac version of excel would be greatly appreciated.

  15. RemoveDuplicates in VBA not working properly

When dealing with multiple columns, i.e.

    CODE: range.removeduplicates columns:=array(1,2)

A prompt showed up and ask user whether or not delete duplicate values

It causes problem because without confirming deletion, the code won't run correctly. and what make the whole thing worse is that the code finishes running before I had a chance to confirm the deletion.

    Please help

  16. Return features from Office 2010

When copy and pasting, in Office 2010 you get a veriety of options when you right click, but in Excel 2016, it does not, you have to click on Paste Special and then choose from only 2 options! - Thos feature in excel 2010 is brilliant and gives so many useful options for paste special.
In excel 2010, you can create your own personalised menu with shortcuts to the icons that you use most often... This I can not find how to do in 2016. It makes working in Excel so much easier and quicker.
    Unfortunately, I can not see…

  17. Pls remove the upgrade 'nag' ribbon from Office 2011

Since the introduction of Office 2016 all of my Office apps give me an upgrade 'nag' ribbon on first opening.
I tried 2016. It is terrible. Many apps are missing critical features that make them useless for my work.
I don't need regular nags to harass me into updating to an inferior version.
Please get rid of these annoying things please. I didn't pay this much for Office to be subjected to annoying in-app advertising.

  18. Fix Numeric Keypad on Excel 2016 for Mac

    I love the NumPad.

Who doesn’t? It’s the fastest way to enter numbers. It’s even been used to support specialised input methods.

But I’m not loving the numerical keypad on Excel 2016.

I currently use a Chinese Input software called Q9, which uses the 9 number keys on the NumPad as a method to input Chinese. On Excel 2016 for Mac, every time I hit a number key on the NumPad, Excel interprets it as me entering a number, even though I am just trying to use the NumPad to interact with my input software.

    European users are experiencing a…

  19. Have Excel - and other Office programs - follow current OS X standards for menus and title bars

In your info page for Office, you say:

"Unmistakably Office, designed for Mac … combining the familiarity of Office and the unique Mac features you love."

But Office 2016 seems just like Office 2011 by not updating some menu and title bar features to reflect current OS X standards. It took me a while to get used to these, but now that I have it's frustrating to expect them and find them missing. Two big ones:

    - Save/Duplicate/Save As… Shift-Cmd-S is now supposed to be "Duplicate" by default in OS X, not Save As. Instead, the Option key is used…

Thanks for the suggestion, comments and votes for following OS X standards for menus and title bars. Some aspects mentioned here have been addressed, such as switching windows within Excel by pressing CMD+` (key that has ~ on it). We will continue to monitor votes and comments to prioritize accordingly with other suggestions here.

  20. Fix https link resolution in Office

The Office 2011 external-link-checking function needs either:
    - To be less restrictive with https links by resolving them even if the linked website does not present an Excel-readable SSL certificate (in my case, this is because the linked page redirects the browser to a login service).
    or
    - To offer the option of disabling the link checking function on Mac, as is already (partially?) possible on Windows: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/218153

A Microsoft Communities feed describing this lack of support for https links on Office 2011 can be found here:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macexcel/excel-2011-hyperlinks-not-working-error-unable-to/eac46a95-8fcf-43a1-8e69-4e8dc3da9461
