  1. Make Excel for Mac Exactly the same as in Windows

Make possible to see toolbars with colored Icons ,(same as in 2013 version) and also the option to place it bellow the ribbon.
There are many missing functions, that are not available in Excel for Mac

Thanks for posting about this issue. It would be very helpful if you would provide more information and screen shots to show how the words appear in Word and PowerPoint so that we can see the difference in Excel.

Also, if you could provide a small example of the keystrokes that are used to enter one of the words on a US English keyboard (set to Myanmar or Myanmar QWERTY), it will be very helpful.

  3. Gradient Cell for Excel Mac

To have compatibility for Windows & Mac suggested to have gradient fill for Excel Mac as well.

  5. Change Default Currencies in Dropdown Menu Excel

It would be extremely helpful to be able to change the default currencies I see listed in the dropdown menu for currencies.

I'm in the EURO zone. Microsoft has decided I see GBPound/Euro/RMB/CHF which makes no sense to me! I never EVER use the Swiss Franc or Chinese RMB, while the USD is not in there... ????

It should be such an easy software adjustment to select your own currencies (and order) of which currencies show in the dropdown menu. Why have currencies in shortcuts that do nothing to help the user?

  6. Name Manager non-existant

The name manager in Excel for Mac is virtually non-existant compared to the version in Windows. Please add the same functionality for the Mac-version.

  7. "downloading missing fonts for Excel" (Fehlende Schriftarten werden heruntergeldaden)

I am using Office 365 now approx for a year on my device (iMac, most current iOS-version). Since a few weeks, whenever I open Excel I get the message shown above. That does not happen with other Office 365-application but only with Excel. It is not really a problem but a little annoying. Instructions to solve the problem found in the internet did not remedy the situation.

  8. Preserve conditional formatting in Mac pivot table

Please add the conditional formatting "Apply Rule To" feature to Mac Excel. This is already in Windows. It is insanely frustrating that I need to re-apply the conditional formatting to every column every time I expand a pivot table or add data or really do anything to the pivot table. Thank you.

    Also discussed here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/how-do-you-apply-conditional-formats-to-fields-in/7235070e-eeca-4b09-abd2-424e80333b06

  9. Make Calendar Week - Year into a dated format

Please make a format that helps excel recognize that calendar week and year put together is a dated format. It does not do that currently and won't sort properly into a pivot table --> chart. Currently a very manual process to move the individual pivot data one by one. I imagine it will be very helpful for KPIs in businesses across multiple industries.

  10. Don't use scientific notation for 13-digit numbers

13-digit ISBNs are widely used in the publishing and related industries. It is beyond frustrating that there is no option to set the default to storing and displaying numbers fully, rather than in scientific notation. If one is sent a CSV containing 13-digit ISBNs, opens the CSV then saves it again, they are corrupted and unusable. It is a bug, in my view!

  11. Make a preview setting

I would recommend making a preview setting whereas you can look at the document without the other tabs getting in the way :)

  12. Support Colorindex in the custom number format

Currently if you open an excel created on windows using color index inside the cell format i.e. [Color10]#,##0 this is not supported by Excel for Mac and gives a file repair error ...

Currency Mac support [Red], [Blue] etc but not color index.. which is annoying as ColorIndex are already working on Windows and Excel online..

  15. stop autocorrecting numbers into dates

Please provide the option to stop turning numbers into dates. It's so frustrating. There should be a global option to stop that mess. When a person is working with data that includes these kinds of numbers frequently, like I do, working on managing assessment for grades K-12, and specifically the grade ranges 3-5 and 6-8 (NOT March and July) it's so frustrating to have those numbers auto-corrected when I export database information and I have to go through the hassle of fixing it constantly. Seriously, that's not helping.

  18. Let us put cell contents in a header or footer

Lotus 123 used to have this and it was very handy. You'd nominate a reference to a cell, and the contents of that cell would appear in the footer. It was useful when producing a multi-page report, so the report serial number would appear on every page.

I've got a macro doing this at the moment, but I want to phase out macros because they're fundamentally insecure.

  19. Hairline does not display properly (coding issue?)

Printing Excel, More Borders, Line Style - first option. In Windows, prints as Hairline (Great!) but on Mac prints as blurry, dotted line (Not good.)

Happened on my HP, and also on my Canon

Just started with a fresh excel file. boxed four cells. Went to borders > line styles and used the first, second, fifth and sixth. Looks like it might be an error in coding - as first and second print out the same. Even with a magnifying glass it looks almost identical. it looks as though there's an issue with the first line in the Mac OS…
