Allow users to turn off cursor "glide" animation (cell selection animation)
l find the silly animation that "glides" the cursor from cell to cell to be distracting. That's bad. But the fact that there is no way to turn it off is absolutely infuriating. Let me turn it off.
Good morning (5 April, 2016),
I’m happy to be able to update that we’ve released an update for this issue in Mac Excel 15.21, which has rolled out to Office Insiders today and pending any blocking issues we find there should start rolling out to everyone in a week or so.
In order to turn off this animation once you have the updated build, you’ll want to go to Excel > Preferences > Edit and uncheck the “Provide feedback with animation” checkbox.
Hope that helps,
Greetings and happy Friday (2.26),
Good news – based on the feedback here, we’re going to hook up all of the new animations – including this cursor glide animation – to a setting in Excel > Preferences so that you can turn them off.
Totally agree with the animation is useless, but to make the software laggy.
please fix it.
Honestly, was the animation designed to infuriate power users? It just makes the software laggy.

Completely agree, when I had to use the PC version I turned it off as soon as I could find the setting, the same frustration for the fade effect as you change between tabs (Home, Insert, etc...) in all of the Office apps. Give us a switch to turn this off!
this is slowing down excel so much. Numbers and openoffice works so much faster. Excel is the best app - but performance is unusable!

I'm going to have to downgrade back to Office 2011, as the animation in Excel is driving me nuts. Please provide a preference option to disable it!

Just gave three votes! Super distracting animation...

This is a terrible feature. Excel should be focused on ease and speed of use. All the auto-scrolling and animations are annoying and unnecessary.

Please, give us the option to turn it off.

We like speed. If we want pretty we would not use Excel.

This feature is so bad, I think I might just ask for my money back...seriously!
This feature if just beyond obnoxious. It can be disabled in the PC version but even there the default is on and the setting is buried. MS, why after so many years of people despising this feature does it even exist in Office?
Please let me turn this off

Simply allow the user(s) to decide and switch this (on/off).
Just slows everything down and looks silly. Please let us turn this off or speed it up!
PLEASE get rid of this sickening feature!
Please turn this off. I'm getting motion sick over here!!!
For a person with vertigo, the frequent cursor gliding movements make me feel dizzy. I cannot use Excel 2016. So i am back to version 2011.
Whoever thought this feature was a good idea and didn't give a way to turn it off should be fired.
TURN IT OFF. THIS IS NOT A VIDEO GAME!

My fingers are faster than the animation. This 'feature' is so arrogant, why would you implement something that forces users to slow down, and then not allow them to turn it off?!!
I have to navigate my life around enough morons, why would you do this?!!
