Bring back a fully functional VBE (Visual Basic Editor for VBA)
Please bring back the full editor capability of VBE to Mac Excel 2016, like we had in Mac Excel 2011. As it is, the "slimmed down" editing experience of VBA is more like a notepad experience than anything - making it basically impossible to
* edit VBA from scratch,
* get syntax highlighting
* see a watch window

Hi All – The Visual Basic Editor was greatly improved in an update several months ago. If you don’t have the latest version of Excel for Mac, please go to Help > Check for Updates and update to the latest version to check it out. Thanks for all your comments and support for this feature.
If you notice issues as you are using the latest VBE, please let us know by clicking the smiley-face feedback button near the top-right of the Excel window.

Please consider this demand in the age of UX. Excel is the most powerful program of Microsoft, which is the reason I've bought MS Office for Mac. But I cannot use it fully. And also consider the fact that, MACOS users' rate of legal Office usage is higher than MS users. Thanks in advance.

Return an enterprise quality vba to Excel for Mac 2016 or later. Make the editor a real editor. Stop treating Mac Excel users like we don't matter.

I've stopped upgrading excel at 2011 for mac. I won't go to 2016 for mac as I need vba. I don't care if Microsoft abandons 2011 for mac, I will continue to use it and do the work my office requires. I won't go to windows. I won't use excel without vba. I don't know what Microsoft thinks they're playing at, but it's stupid, customer-hating idiocy I will not support with my money.
so????? its been nearly 2 years youve been working on it.
No news. This is getting depressing.
I want to use VBA in Office 2016 for Mac!
At least give us the search and replace function.
Hi guys !
Would be great if you could let us know a status update on this. Been long overdue
It has been almost 2years, any progress?

Microsoft is intentionally neglecting Mac MS Office 2016 VBA because they believe it makes financial sense for them to do so, IOW, "integrity" means nothing to Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella. Remember Excel 2008? Three years for an inferior version of VBA then. Don't expect full VBA support in Mac Office 2016, it won't happen. There's not even full support in Excel 2011. All you can do is hope for support of VBA in Office 2021, or switch to something else. This is sabotage by Microsoft of their own product that was born in the Mac in 1985. I bought the 1985 version, and all subsequent versions, but this is my last. I get it.
It's long overdue. Artificially handicapped.
Willingness or ability?

We wait so long!
If a 3rd of the people complaining in this thread, were to open an official ticket with Microsoft, this would get solved MUCH faster. This community voice channel, gets so little actual MS eye time, you might as well set their lawn on fire to get more attention.

Excel without VBA is nearly useless for any work of reasonable complexity. I don't want to suffer a Windows environment to do my work. I want VBA in Excel on a Mac. Your Microsoft. Why are you trying to convince people this can't be done incrementally and more quickly? You've written books on software development that releases features just like that. Yet we have to suffer because we prefer someone else's OS? You think that will make me buy a windows box? Never? I'll stay with Excel for Mac 2011. This is no way to treat smart customers in a business serving smart customers.
We could hardly understand that some features are difficult to implement, but SEARCH is so difficult? You know how disgusting is trying to program without this simple function?
YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR CLIENTS! and you LIED WHEN YOU TOLD US THE ADVANTAGES BUT NOT THE PROBLEMS.

We are now into 2017, how long does it take to bring back features that aren't available on Excel:Mac 2016? Where is the progress?
Jacques Metivet commented
Please, bring back VBA. in Office 2016. Excel without VBA is not Excel any more. Thanks.

Thanks for taking the initiative and greatly appreciated. We are all eagerly waiting for the VB functionality on 2016.

Ridiculous. Why release 2016 version without full VBA? The commercial literature does not clearly explain this lost functionality.
Don't sell a product if you don't have it!!!
You don't say in the commercial info that it is not possible to debug in VBA for Excel. You only tell the improvements. For me this is cheating
Can we have VBA on MAC ....Please add it
Guys, it seems to me that the only way to move this project forward is to put some pressure on Apple instead of Microsoft since the latter obviously doesn't care about Mac users...
