Font smoothing
Please enable the font smoothing on Mac Book pro (not retina display).
The fonts look horrible on non-retina displays.
Moreover, I read a lot of complaints about this missing feature.
Thanks.

Another update – This is done and the fix was released in the Nov update (15.16). Thanks for your feedback!

While this problem seems to be fixed in Excel, font smoothing in PowerPoint also suffers from a similar (if no the same) issue with font smoothing on non-Retina displays.

Would love to know when the fix for this is set to be released... I was about to cancel my subscription until I read this...

Is a fix out yet? $8.00 per month for a unusable product is a little steep

Dan, can I ask if the forthcoming fix will apply only to Excel font smoothing, or if it will also fix the isolated cases where there's bad font smoothing in Word 2016 as well?

Thanks for the update, Dan. I hope we do get this sorted out in a few weeks!

I found this temporary solution:
Just add a background color to your cells. I set a white background color to my worksheet, and now font rendering is better. -

Great news! We have a fix for this that we're working on, and it should be done in a couple weeks, to be released mid-November.
Thanks for letting us know (and to those of you that helped us with sample files and repros),

I just don't understand how an Office for Mac update doesn't include this issue at this point. How many more votes do we need?
