Expose a VBE add-in entry point
The VBE on Windows is reading a registry key to know where and how to load VBE add-ins from; that key is the ProgId of a COM-registered class that implements the IDTExtensibility2 interface.
It is my understanding that Mac-VBA supports the VBE Extensibility library; if that is indeed the case then there should be a way to write a VBE add-in that can run on the Mac-VBE, and use that extensibility API to provide additional functionality, integrated in the editor. The mechanics would obviously need to be wildly different than on Windows, but there must be a way for the VBE to provide an instance of itself to an add-in that can create dockable toolwindows and analyze the code in the IDE, for example.
Ideally it would be possible to build an add-in on a Windows box and deploy it for use in the Mac-VBE, but even a solution that requires Mac-native code (Objective-C? Swift?) would be acceptable.
Can the VBE somehow be given the ability to load add-ins?
