How can we improve Excel for Mac?

Remove autoformatting to dates, or at least provide an option to turn this off

I have a HUGE complaint about this. Your last iOS update messed up all the dates I had perfectly formatted to 'United Kingdom'. It makes me want to cry, because no matter what I try it stays on 'United States' dates.
There is no longer any point in have a whole list of date formats from all over the world, when only one will count. Change it now please!

This is the most annoying feature. Please give us the option to remove it
I write macros to work around it and it still wastes my time.
Date is the most unimportant format in my work and most other peoples.
How many date cells are in any spreadsheet? So why is this the default.
Type in a chemical name, FeBr2 and it turns it into a date.
Autodate is a waste of time--not a time saver.

Yes!!!! Please, Microsoft!!!! This auto-format feature is the bane of my existence when using excel. It shouldn't automatically change something into a date just because I use a slash or hyphen between two numbers. So much time wasted having to reformat/remove format from the cells.
