In Excel 2016 for Mac, new chart types were introduced, including Histogram, Tree Map, Sunburst and Box and Whisker. When attempting to format the X & Y Axes, either the Format box appeared with no parameters, or no Format box shows at all. This is critical, core functionality and is needed ASAP, for example a 16.10 update. With my specific case, /i was trying to adjust Bin parameters on a Histogram, and the Format Axis box never appeared.91 votes
We’re late updating the status on this one, but this has been completed, so you should be able to do all the formatting options for the newer chart types mentioned in this suggestion.

Good news. The Tree Map chart is available in Excel for Mac v16. There are still some finishing touches to come in the coming months. Some formatting options are not yet available, but you can do the basics now.

Make the Modern Charts (Treemap, Sunburst etc) that are available on the Windows version of Office also available on the Mac version326 votes
Hi All – the new version of Excel for Mac (version 16.x) includes the modern chart types. There are TreeMap, Sunburst, Waterfall, and Histogram charts now available. Office 365 subscribers also get Funnel and Map charts (as on Excel for Windows). There are some improvements coming for all these chart types in the next few months.
To update to the latest version of Excel, go to the Help menu and click Check for Updates.
Thanks – Steve K [MS Excel]
This feature has been available for Windows users for years. I have Excel 2011 and just can't see the value of upgrading without this feature (as it is, I already have to use a Windows version of Excel to do data analysis).1,239 votes
In Excel for Mac, you can now insert a PivotChart when your data is in a PivotTable. Thanks again for the suggestion and for all your votes and comments.
