  1. Export to PDF image size/compression options

Exporting to a PDF compresses charts and graphics too much and makes them blurry. Should have the ability to export at full resolution.

  2. Please update f"ormat comment" to allow images.

I really need to be able to add an image to a new comment. A pop up of a hard to see thumbnail image as a larger image in a comment box would help my cataloguing system no end. However, I can't find a "format comment" option anywhere on Excel 2016 to allow me to do this and forums seem to support the fact that this has been removed since the last version. Uh, why?

  3. Copy and paste photos from Photos to Excel for Mac

It is regrettable that it is not possible to copy and paste photos or drag-and-drop photos from Photos to Excel. Please enable this function, which used to exist when copying photos from iPhoto. Now, since Photos, one has to click in Excel for Mac: "Media" then "Insert" then "From Web Browser" function, and then wait for that to load. This is extremely time consuming when you have a lot of photos to copy individually. (By the way, it's OK that photo quality may be lower when using copy/paste or drag/drop versus "Insert; all I want in the Excel spreadsheet are…

  4. Additional features for Excel charts

    Hello,
I just wanted to make a couple of suggestion regarding the charts in Excel:
    1) I am occasionally making area charts in Excel and an option of making area angles "smooth" (similar to what Excel has for line charts) would come handy in many instances.
    2) I am also making bubble charts and found out that unfortunately it cannot be combined with other chart types.

Perhaps these could be considered for the next releases of Excel. This is for both Windows and Mac Excel.

    Thank you.

  5. Add a dot plot as native graph option. This is a simple graph that shows position of datapoint on a single axis for data visualization.

Dot plots are simple graphs that show distribution of values along a single axis. This can be faked using a scatterplot, but the y-axis is unused (and people always ask what that axis is...) Programs like Minitab allow for this graph to help visualize the data without any statistical assumptions.

  6. Select object tool

The select object tool is no longer in excel 2011. It is very tedious so select one object at a time when in the previous version I could just use the select object tools and select them all at once.

  7. I need to be able to include an image/picture/graph -inside- a cell, as cell content and filetype.

This I need so very often! And so great features would be possible.
Just to name the most obvious, a sortable list, where one column is for representative images. It would be sortable by the other columns and resize the cells accordingly.

I know, that pictures are linked with their left top pixel to the respective cell, but that is way too less to be feasible for all the necessary applications.

  8. Ability To Change Shape and Picture Names

From what I can tell, it is impossible to change the reference name of a created Shape or a pasted-in picture. It appears you can only rename cell ranges....which seems very odd to me.

Thanks for taking this into consideration!

Sorry to hear your having trouble changing shape and picture names. If I understand the request correctly, this feature is supported. You can rename a shape or picture a few ways…

    1) Select the shape (or picture) and go to the “Name Box” on the upper left side of the screen (above the column label headers “A”, “B”,“C”…. and below the ribbon). The name box will have the default name of the shape (like “Rectangle 1”) but you can type over this default value to rename your shape.
This article shows how to use the name box for cells, but it can also be used to change the name of a shape

    OR

    2) Select the shape (or picture) and go to the “Shape Format” ribbon and click the “Selection Pane” button. This will open a pane on the right side of your screen with all the shapes on…

  9. drawing toolbar

Please bring back the drawing toolbar or at least bring back the select object tool. now when i need to delete 30 out of 100 photos. i have to select each object one by one pressing shift+cmd. that is time consuming and easy for errors.

  10. Please fix the Check boxes from the developer tab

The check boxes that can be created from the Developer ribbon don't seem to work in Excel for Mac 2016. You can see them but you can't check or uncheck them.

Please fix this!!! I can't use a range of reports because they all rely on check boxes.

  11. Pasting graphocs/art/photo in header or footer

I cannot insert a photo/artwork/picture/logo into a header on a Mac. This is ridiculous!

  12. Inserting photo from file should default to previously selected file location

Insert photo should revert to the last used file location, not the Documents file. Every time I want to insert a photo I have to click through about 10 menus to get to the relevant folder, this is extremely annoying! On my previous PC it would revert to last selected folder.

Also it should be possible for multiple image files to be inserted in one click. On a PC these would just be cascaded into the selected cell.
