I regret very much when I access a drop-down list from a cell to see only the first sixteen elements of this list even if the size of my screen would allow a greater number as in previous versions of excel for mac . This forces me to scroll through the window because I often have forty or fifty items in my lists and it causes me to waste a lot of time doing this manipulation.
I do not understand what led to this restriction.

  4. word cloud / wordcloud

Please create functionality to create wordclouds / word clouds in excel. there are thirdparty solutions like wordle but it would be good to do it directly in excel. like marking a table and create a word cloud based on that type of info.

  5. "What If" Question Environment for Business & Finance (like Quantrix, but better)

    The idea is simple:

If I paste in a financial, excel 'knows' what it is automacally ie) Balance Sheet, and opens up a submenu that will enable me, should I click there, to ask WHAT IF questions of the statement. The answers will be posted to a new sheet, which is the output environment for the identified financial.

Quantrix has allowed you to do this since inception, but Quantrix does not make it seem 'plug & play simple.' So this is a MAJOR opportunity for Excel to make those features intuitive and easy to use, while being just as rich.…

  6. Keep Formatting Same when Change Source Data

When I click on a data series in a chart, and the blue and purple boxes come up highlighting the source data, if I move the box the formatting of the data series reverts back to defaults. I frequently need to make multiple graphs with the same formatting. It would be most convenient if the formatting I changed the data series to stayed instead of considering that a reset. The same thing happens if I right click and try to change the data set through the source data pop up window.

  8. Improve the Help

I am a former PC user now with the Mac version. Some of the graphics functions I have been doing for years on the PC (e.g., plot data on two vertical scales, put a title on the vertical scale), I cannot find on the Mac version. Surely there is a way. HELP in Excel in the Mac is NO HELP. (True also for WORD--HELP is NO HELP).

  9. For charts link a color to a series name so that we don't have to worry about changing its colour anymore.

I've been waiting for this for ages. Why is the color scheme linked to a given order of series? We need to set once and for all a series name to set colour.

  11. Add real subdivisions for logarithmic plots!

In college I've had so many lab assignments where we were required to submit a semilog or log-log plot that only spanned one or two decades, but still needed subdivision gridlines (e.g. gridlines at {10, 20, 30, 40, etc.}, not just at {10, 100}). I end up finding an image of graph paper with the subdivisions I need and just dragging that underneath the plot and moving and resizing it to match the plot. I don't have to explain how much a pain that is. It would be so much better if Excel could add these subdivision gridlines automatically!

  12. Keep graph format the same when scrolling to other data

When I scroll down to a next set of data to produce line graphs for several items, the format of lines and markers changes, which I do not want (the idea is to produce multiple graphs with identical formats). I can overcome this by copying the graph- paste special-format (onto this graph) before I start scrolling, but I have to do this again each time I re-open the excel file. Very annoying.
