Temporary variables in formulas
It would be amazing if you could implement a function that allows you to set a temporary variable to use within a formula! Something like the syntax used in OpenRefine's "with()" control (borrowing their syntax for my example  link to their wiki below).
Syntax:
WITH( [Function A], [Variable Name: string], [Function B] )[Function A] would get evaluated first, and then the result could be referenced within [Function B] using the [Variable Name] string (essentially as if it was a named range). Find
Why after so many years of people requesting that Find All button be added to the Find dialog box in Mac Excel version it's still not there? How difficult is it just to add a button?

In Office 2011 for Mac in the pulldown File menu under Recent the user has the option to Clear Recent. This option does not exist in Office

Parse
I’d like to see a “parse” function that can easily separate out strings in cells and pull just one element instead of doing multiple mid() and find() functions. e.g. =PARSE(“Gift card from Company for $200”,4) would return “Company” or ,6 would return $200 etc. Maybe an optional parameter to specify the separators (sometimes it’s hyphens, sometimes spaces, sometimes bars etc). Another optional would be how many words to pull starting at word x, e.g. =PARSE(“This has useful data about product”,3,2) would return “useful data”

conditional cell formatting
Like in google sheets, provided conditional cell formatting. For example, in cell C1, if the value is above zero, the cell's text will turn green. If below zero, the cell's text will turn red.

Please create a function that will give you the Range (largestsmallest value)of a data set. ex.=range(a1:a13)

Excel should look at only the highest and lowest digits within a given range and subtract the higher value from the lower.

Allow spreadsheets with links to other spreadsheets on network drives to work between Mac and Windows
(we have a case open with Microsoft of this: 117010515137743 )
We have two spreadsheets on a shared network drive, spreadsheet 1 has links to cells in spreadsheet 2. If we create the links on a Windows machine running Office 2016 (link looks like this: ='\staff01\staffshare\CentralDepts\Technology\NetworkServices\MSTest\Folder2[Main.xlsx]Sheet1'!$B$5), when we open the spreadsheet on a Mac running Office 2016, the link is broken! (on the Mac, the link is: ='\staff01\staffshare\CentralDepts\Technology\NetworkServices\MSTest\Folder2[Main.xlsx]Sheet1'!$B$5, which is not a valid path on the Mac).
If we fix it on the Mac, so now the path looks like this: ='\staff01\staffshare\CentralDepts\Technology\NetworkServices\MSTest\Folder2[Main.xlsx]Sheet1'!$B$5
When we open it on Windows, Excel tries…

You have to bring back Clipboard in Excel 2016
Sorry, I have commented before on this topic but I have to comment again. This is crazy and incredibly frustrating. The Clipboard is so essential. Right now I am trying to copy about 22 individual rows of data (each about 32 columns wide) but spaced about 50 rows apart, so they have to be done individually, to another part of the sheet quite some distance away. Without clipboard it is so frustrating. Once the row is copied,iIf I make one little error, like selecting the wrong staring cell to paste or pressing some other key, the copy is lost and…

Save function/formula string used regularly to recall easily
I think it would be very useful to be able to save a formula that you use regularly to recall. For instance, I have a formula I use to change the last character instance in a cell and it would be nice to be able to recall it by typing something like "=changelastcharacterinstance"

Nonparametric statistical tests
Excel only offers parametric tests like the ttest and the ANOVA. It should also offer nonparametric tests that are not based on binomial distributions like the Mann Whitney (u test) for instance.

View (All) option (like Word) to see all whitespace characters, training spaces, newlines, etc.
Given how single trailing spaces can disrupt smooth functioning of functions, especially like VLOOKUP, it would be wonderful to have an option to display spaces, newlines (and indeed anything else that can contribute to "hidden" whitespace) just like we have been able to see in Word as an option for, ooh, about a century (or at least since the beginning of time).
At the same time, and in the same mode, a distinctive background shading or similar of numbersstoredastext — another huge time waster and caltrop for the novice, and even notsonovice users.3 votes

Sheet numbers change as you drag the formulae down
Can there please be the ability to drag the below function down the column and the sheet number changes automatically only. The '$' sign fixes the cell but I need the ability for the sheet number to change automatically in numerical order as I have over 200 rows and 25 columns to change manually!!

Why is there no Menu item or Ribbon button for toggling between relative and absolute?
Yesterday, I spent a good 2 hours trying to change a table's references from relative to absolute. I couldn't find any Menu item or Ribbon button to perform this action, so had to resort to Google.
That lead me to the support.office.com page for Mac keyboard shortcuts (https://support.office.com/enus/article/KeyboardshortcutsinExcelforMacacf5419e1f87444d962f4e951a658ccd), which told me that I could use CMD+T (which creates a table) or F4 (which is a Redo shortcut).
So I called 365 support, where I hand to help the agent understand how to use several aspects of Excel (nothing is more frustrating than talking to an "expert" who knows…

I've been using Excel on Mac for over 20 years, I've always liked to be able to Sommer discontinuous cells, simply by selecting them one after the other after putting the = sign in the cell to receive the sum... it never worked On Windows versions and if I was not careful I found myself with the value of the last cell clicked instead of the sum of the Series.
Here I've just acquired and installed Office 365, instead of my "old" office Mac 2011 and this automation of the sign + no longer functions...
