  1. Bring back the "Paragraph" formatting feature for text boxes (previously available on the menubar)

    Excel for Mac 2011 previously included an option to edit features such as text alignment, indentation, line spacing, and other paragraph-related formatting features from the Format - Paragraph option on the menu bar.

    However, for some reason, this is missing completely from the menu bar on Excel 2016 for Mac. It is now only available when right-clicking inside a text box. Please see the following image for the menu:

    http://www.chapmancreativeworks.com/files/excel2016paragraphmenu.png

    The Paragraph menu items are not available from the new Format Shape - Text Options pane on the right-hand side of the screen, either. There are options for…

  3. Number of Decimal Points

    The default way Excel displays numbers after the decimal point needs an update. Right now, here are the results of Excel default formatting settings. (the values in brackets are in different cells)

    A1 = [1.234]
    A2 = [1.234]
    A3 = [A1*A2] displays [1.522756]
    2X increase in values displayed post decimal!
    4 sig figs become 7 sig figs

    A1 = [2]
    A2 = [Log(A1)] displays 0.30103
    5X increase in values displayed post decimal!
    1 sig figs become 7 sig figs

    Excel is clearly just displaying all the digits it calculates. This is not the proper way to account for significant figures,…

  4. It would be nice to be able to add a space after the text or ??? in a cell on AutoFit (kinda like indent) so the columns won't be so bunched

    Add and option to include spaces on the right when you AutoFit in VBA like you do to the left (indent) to keep the columns from getting so tight. I think it would make it a lot easier to read. Not so bunched up.

  8. Add Right (indent) to formatting options

    Excel for PC has had Left and Right (indent) in formatting since 2007. Excel for Mac only has Left (indent).

  9. Font format or cell width changed in 2016

    I have many spreadsheets in which I had tailored cell widths to just fit the text I had in column headers, and upon upgrading to 2016, either the font format has changed or the cell widths have become smaller to the extent that many of my column headers have words that are split on two lines now. What did Microsoft do to make a global change in formats that has affected many of my spreadsheets? Is anyone else seeing this?

  11. Annoying ungrouping of rows

    I have many sets of grouped rows, and the detail is hidden for some of them so that only the + signs are showing to the left of the row number above each group of rows. I selected a large range of cells which contains a number of these groups in order to change the height of each row in this entire range. After dragging the row height to the desired value, all of the row groups in my selection range became unhidden. This is annoying—please don’t do this. Perhaps you are thinking the user would want to see all…

  12. What you have done with the text? It's virtually unreadable!

    I've just upgraded to 16.9, and now the text is much less legible and hard to read.

    I don't know why you've done this or how you could even manage to do this?

    The text is now wishy-washy and makes me now want to even look at my spreadsheets, never mind show them anyone else.

    I'll figure out how to roll back, and that's the end of updates for me until this is fixed.

  13. DATE function start date 1/1/1900

    The date 1/1/1900 is serial # 1 in Excel as though that was the first day in time. Hence, in dealing with immigration from the 1800s - 1900s (for example, the idiot known as Donald Trump and his Nazi/Communist kin, Microsoft Excel cannot delineate between 1911 and 1811. This goes well beyond the lack of apparent disinterest in providing similar levels of customer service, or product or brand experience. This is about charging the same price for a vastly inferior product. More often than not, functions beyond simple 10-key and numerical operators are discovered to be 'undoable on a Mac.…

  14. Clearly and easily indicate page breaks on multiple page print area.

    During PRINT SETUP routine, clearly and easily add page breaks to visualize (and adjust) how current settings will appear when printed. I have seen this feature on previous versions of Excel.

  15. Hebrew Lunar Calendar

    Excel gives calendar support for the Arabic calendar.

    I am sure there are many highly technical users working with spreadsheets with arabic calendars (pyrotechnic engineers? Pilot trainees?)

    Certainly Microsoft is making enough money off the backs of the many Jewish engineers working for them in Israel, that they could finally get around to converting the Lunar calendar, which would Jewish Excel users to sort a column on Jewish dates. And please add it as patch for Office 2011, as many are more comfortable with that version vs later revs.

    PS - Someone did most of the work here, but it…

  16. Messed up accounting and currency symbol formatting

    I want to change the format of a cell into accounting category. The currency symbol that I use is Rupiah, which if it's written down along with the numbers, it should be Rp 1,230. But instead, on Excel, the Rupiah symbol (Rp) is written on the back of the numbers. Can someone fix this?

  18. Fix ColorIndex 22 on Excel for Mac

    On Excel for Mac Version 15.22, ColorIndex = 22 should be a reddish-pink color, but instead it appears orange. This happens when I use a macro to color the cell myself, or when I open a spreadsheet that has already been colored with this ColorIndex.

  19. Myriad Pro italic font formatting issues

    I just updated to El Capitan and now when changing Myriad Pro font from regular to italic, the formatting of the cell is all messed up. I've so far only noticed it on this one font.

  20. EXCEL for MAC

    Bonjour.
