  1. Fix problem with relative reference formulas in conditional formatting

    At present, if I want to compare 2 values in a row, I can easily use the conditional formatting feature to choose from which value is the highest, and change the colour of the cell for example.

    The problem occurs when I want to apply that to each row.

    At present, if I select the cells and use format painter, I can apply it to the 2 cells in the row below, and the conditional formatting formula is applied perfectly (relative to the 2 new cells).

    However, if I want to apply that all rows relatively, select the cells with…

  3. AutoFit Row Height for Merged Cells

    Long time ask by many...create a button or functionality to AutoFit the row height for merged cells for those that use Excel to create forms, summary reports (based on drop-downs and IF statement). There are all sorts of ways to do this with Macros, some hard, and some easy, but it's so basic and needs to finally exist as an option.

  4. Decimals with external numeric pad

    When using an external numerical pad with a Mac, the dot for decimals is automatically changed into a comma, hence the figures are not recognized as numbers but as text (even though the Mac and Excel settings for decimals are set to dots).

  5. change comment line

    Permit changing comment line color (the little line connecting the comment to the cell) so it can be black. It's ALWAYS yellow now and no one can see it.

  6. Cannot change number of decimal places

    I have attempted to assign 4 decimal places to all values in a large table of values. Using the usual method of highlighting the whole array of cells and using FORMAT-CELLS-NUMBER-decimal places 4 does changes most of the values to 4 decimal places but a few columns show 0, 1, 2, 3 or other number of decimals. Using the Increase or Decrease Decimal button on the Home ribbon does nothing, although the increase/decrease decimal buttons work fine on the columns of numbers successfully set to 4 decimal places. Yet another glitch in this worst-ever version of Excel.

  8. Merge Down option - just like Merge Across, but Down. Quick Add.

    There exists a "Merge Across" option. A "Merge Down" option should also exist. So you can highlight multiple rows in multiple columns, and you can merge down, so the rows in each column merge, keeping the columns separate. Same principle as Merge Across, just Merge DOWN. Quick add.

  9. Excel - Format a comment in every way, not just text. Essential.

    Formatting a comment, not just the text, is essential. Comments are mini Notes & need to highlighted in many ways. I don't have a sheet without Comments & I use Excel more that Word. In versions before the subscription version you could format a comment completely. Tried using call outs but need to preserve roll-over function as wells permeant view of comments.

  10. Some commands do not work in Quick Access Toolbar

    I need to have certain commands available on the QAT. I use Paste Values a lot but although I can place it in the QAT, it does not work from that location. Please look into this.

    Actually the QAT needs a complete rethink in my opinion. It is given so little prominence, especially when compared to the enormous amount of real estate occupied by the ribbons and their huge content of commands, most of which are not required on a regular or even irregular basis.

  12. Fix Comments in Excel

    The comment box in Excel is broken, it often results in Excel crashing.

    1) It's laggy
    2) It opens with the words "Microsoft Office". THIS IS SO BIZZARE WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT! Why not just leave the comment empty? There's no point in advertizing Microsoft Office IN the comment, when the comment feature is not as beautiful yet as the rest of the suit, and causes an otherwise wonderful program to CRASH rather often.

    A new comment should be empty, or PERHAPS have a greyed out phrase "enter comment here...", which dissapears the moment you click on the new…

  13. Issue with text fonts and size in graphs

    EXCEL 2016
    I have a graph with x values from -2 to +10. The font type and size are consistent for the 0 to 10 labels on the X axis but the -1- and -2 labels are a different font and a larger size. And these two tables are not in alignment, being lower down than the other labels. I cannot seem to change this to make the labels all the same. Is this a glitch or yet another feature that requires another scavenger hunt.

  15. Fix struckthrough text so the strikethrough is actually visible

    Struckthrough text in Excel 2016/365 is almost impossible to distinguish from regular text. Please make the strike clearly visible, like it was in Excel 2008. See attached screenshots.

  16. Add 'Inside Border' option to drop-down for table borders

    The drop-down for borders doesn't have an 'inside borders' option. It's got 'outside', 'all', 'top', 'bottom' etc, but not inside. Would make sense to have inside also.

  18. Resize columns in multiple sheets at the same time in the same workbook

    In Office 2016 Excel on Windows, when I select multiple sheets, then resize a column in one sheet, that change is applied to all of the other sheets in the workbook. This does not seem to work on Excel 2016 for Mac.

  19. Floating, reshapeable, self-customized command toolbars

    Along with Styles, the FLOATING, SELF-CUSTOMIZED TOOLBARS in Word and Excel were among their most valuable features. Performing the usual functions without immediate visual, local access to numerous commands--and, instead, having to go to fantastically time-and-energy wasting pull-down menus, or dreary, multiple tab accessed toolbars anchored at the top of the page--is pathetically absurd. (Just a few examples among maybe 100: in Excel the 4 command icons for Insert Rows and Columns, print area, wrap-text or not. In Word, the several icons for creating or deleting specific borders in tables for cells, columns, and rows.) It would be great to…

  20. Add a DateTime Cell Format

    Excel has been around for what seems to be forever, and this problem has been around for what seems to be forever!

    When working with data, such as a database extract, all DateTime fields and considered to be a Time format. So 24/02/2014 15:30
    appears as 30:32.0.

    The function I use more than anything, but a long way is to reformat this cell to dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm. Every time, for a million times over the years!

    It would save the world hours of (confusion and) productivity time if Excel had a DateTime format, which combined our Windows preferred date format with…
