  1. Align the validation button on the right side when cells are merged

    When for layout purposes i need cells to be merged and need a validation list in that merged cel, the button isn’t alligned at the most right cell.
    Please fix this. Now it , the button, is aligned on the right side of the most left cell. However the text is right alligned in the right cell. The button covers the text, when the cell is selected????

  3. Cut and paste appears to append Chinese type characters and symbols

    A few months ago it seems like during an update, we began getting problems while cutting and pasting from Excel into standard text editors. For some unknown reason there would be hundreds and sometimes thousands of Chinese type characters and symbols. Anyway to address this would be great. Thanks.

  4. Include format options for controls

    Currently there does not appear to be a method to format controls (Check boxes, Option Buttons etc) in Excel for Mac 2016. When inserting a control, there is a fixed size and font only which may not not be suitable. Provision needs to be made for a user to format the font/size of the control text/label and potentially the size of the control itself (size of the checkbox for instance).

  5. Copy paste conditional formatting only

    Being able to copy conditional formatting and paste it without pasting the all format of the cell, only the conditional formatting.

  7. Font color of words within a sentence

    I often want to highlight a certain word in a sentence by changing the color of the word.

    BEFORE: all I needed to do is double click the cell where the sentence resides, then select the word or words I want to color change , then select the color.

    NOW: when I do the above ... the word or words show up with the new color ... but as soon as I hit enter ... the color disappears.

    I should note ... SOMETIMES IT WORKS AND THE COLOR REMAINS ... AND OTHER TIMES IT DOES NOT WORK

    PLEASE CORRECT THIS!

  8. give us a keyboard shortcut for copy/paste formatting (please!)

    I LOVE the paintbrush button (copy/paste formatting) but I desperately need a keyboard shortcut for it!

    (Either a pre-set shortcut, or the ability to create my own keyboard shortcuts ...)

  9. Cursor Box Formatting

    Hi I have been using excel recently to create spreadsheets for work.
    I have noticed that I keep trying to locate the cursor box and have been looking for a function that allows me to make it more obvious but haven't managed to find anything.
    It would be a huge help if I could:
    Change the colour of the box by filling in the box with a different colour
    or
    Changing the colour of the border of the box - also if the border could be made thicker.
    Thanks for reading my suggestion. Would make a huge difference if this…

  10. Formatting comments

    I want to be able change the color of the comment box and its border line, and change the color of the connecting arrow that connects the comment to the cell.

  13. Check/Uncheck Filter Items Shortcut

    There is no shortcut to check/uncheck filter items in the dropdown for Mac.

    Space bar or return do not work.

    Please, add a function of customising Touch Bar! There are only default functions on it with no opportunity of customising! It is horrible!

  15. Superscript a number in a cell

    Need to be able to add a superscript to a number in a cell and have it recognize the superscript as not part of the number in the cell when the cell entry is saved. Now it changes the superscript back to the regular number. Should work like when the superscript is added to an alpha character in a cell.

  16. Date format addition

    Please add the date format option to have the date read as 01/01/2018.

    This option is not available in Mac version 14.5.7

  17. I would like the ability to have thinner lines when formatting cell borders

    I am using Microsoft Excel to create some Accounting Sheets instead of using the PDF's I was given. A lot of cells I will need to format with borders and as it currently stands the border options in Microsoft Excel for Mac is limited to 3 solid lines and if I am correct the thinnest line is 1 Point.

    However, in Microsoft Word when creating Tables I am given the option of 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1 and all the way up to 6 Point. Being able to have these options would allow my spreadsheet to more closely resemble the PDF…

  18. Conditional format date-range option

    The conditional format date options are too limited. When working with historical data - even last year's tax! - you may want to highlight dates that fall outside that tax year, for example. There is no simple way to set that range of dates.

  19. Conditional formatting - Apply to named ranges

    Currently if you apply conditional formatting to a named range (i.e. a range named via the Name Manager or a table style named-range), the value in the "Applies to" column of the Conditional Formatting Rules Manager will immediately revert the named range to its absolute cell reference.

    eg. "Applies to: =Table1[Column3]" becomes "Applies to: =$C$2:$C$7".

    Apart from being more difficult to read, it creates other complexities. For example, if I insert a new column into this range, it creates a mess in the rules manager, creating a new rule for each cell pasted.
