  1. Quick time entry formats

I use Excel for Mac and use a Magic Keyboard 2. The number pad doesn't have a colon (:) and so I often find myself needing to type in a time and then break away to type a colon with shift-;. Very inefficient."

When the cell's format is set to time, it would be nice if you could both/either use the period key (.) which is included on the number pad in place of the colon (i.e. typing "10.23" would result in 10:23:00 AM), or be able to type a string of numbers in HHMMSS format (i.e. typing "102300" would…

  4. Undo/Redo (Command+Z) should be workbook dependent.

Currently : Working in two or more workbooks in separate windows share an undo history.

Idea : Workbooks should be independent and have individual edit history.

    For example:

    Workbook A : Data - sort - column A
Workbook B : type "hello world"
Workbook A : COMMAND+Z (undo) should undo the sort in workbook A.

Currently it undoes the type in Workbook B.

  7. Enable Find in Excel for Mac to work the same way it works on Excel for PCs,

Find cannot be used to find formatting, e.g. a word in all caps, merged cells, etc. Find on a PC does all that and more. PLEASE incorporate this into Mac versions of Excel, Word and wherever else applicable.

  9. Can't find the "iqy" file in Excel that I saved.

If I go to "Get Data" and do the Query, a Folder comes up called Queries with 2 samples in the folder.

So, I saved a URL from Yahoo Finance and named it SHYG.igy and put it in the same Queries folder.

But, the 2 sample files called "SampleWebQuery01.igy" and "SampleWebQuery02.iqy" are visible and I can click on them and they load the sample data into my spreadsheet.

    Great.

But, my SHYG.iqy file is "greyed out". Go figure

I tried it again today. I saved a new file to this folder, but when I go to "Finder" I don't see…

  12. Highlight specific letters

Allow us to highlight specific letters to change color because we cant highlight specific letters without highlighting the entire cell.

I am on Insider Fast and my Excel on my Macintosh BigSur beta is not showing anything beyond the first letter that I typed, whether in the cell itself or in the formula bar. Chinese characters work fine however. Existing Excel files also have their text missing.

Anyone encountered this too and has any solution to it?

  15. Auto-Complete in Cells with Data Validation

In a cell with Data Validation, an auto-complete feature would be improve working speed immensely. The feature is there in Google Sheets as well. As long as there are multiple valid items, a drop-down shows a filtered list of such items only. When there is only one item that contains the typed string, pressing Tab or Enter fills that value in the cell and moves to next or below cell respectively. The typed string is matched to be contained anywhere in the valid items list.

  16. Carriage Returns WITHIN cells not working correctly on Mac

In Mac Office 2016, you could do a CR (Carriage Return) WITHIN a cell by simply pressing COMM/OPTION/ENTER. That also works in 365, but consistently incorrectly. The FIRST time you do it in a cell it works. It does not work after that unless you either save the file, or move around in the worksheet. Sometimes the COMM/OPTION/ENTER works if you do it up in the edit field. But there is NO case where you can do it twice WITHIN the field ... very frustrating!

  18. Scrolling in EXCEL vba editor

    EXCEL 2019 Mac:
when working on a small screen, the scrollbar in the EXCEL vba editor is so short that using it to scroll through a large macro module is very difficult. At the same time, the response to the mouse scroll wheel is so minuscule that it is close to useless - It would be nice if at least the <page up> and <page down> keys on the keyboard were working!

  19. Clean up Mac OS Excel Editing

Editing a Excel Cell can often add the cell address of where your cursor happens to be before you make the edit, rather than what you actually meant. Example: I added a "minus" sign to the beginning of the cell I was editing.

  20. Highlight/ Sort so the spreadsheet shows duplicates

It would be really helpful if the spreadsheet gave you the option to review the duplicates, so you can choose which one to keep. It also would be great if you could sort to just show duplicates without having to go through each data entry to manually identify them.
