  1. Switching from Excel 2011 to Excel 2016 - Need a migration guide for VBA. 2016 does not run my 2011 macros correctly.

    There appear to be critical compatibility issues between 2011 and 2016 for Mac.
    I've written a lot personal finance code. I need to load externally generated tab separated data and expressions into excel cell ranges. I export named range tables so my external code can inter-operate with Excel 2011. The macros I wrote to do all this in Excel 2011 don't run correctly in Excel 2016. I need a comprehensive Macro/VBA migration guide. I can't switch to 2016 until these macros have been ported.

  3. Invoicing using a hand held scanner so that we can add barcodes automatically

    It would be excellent if we had facilities to scan a barcode from a hand held scanner in to an invoice

  4. Add customized footer for each page

    I would like to enter a customized footer for each excel sheet that I print. For example page 1 footer is different that page 2 but I still able to keep the feature of all of them having a consistent page number.

  5. Fix HTML export from AppleScript

    Since 16.15, running the following AppleScript has either crashed Excel (versions 16.16–16.23) or (16.15 and since 16.24) produced a badly formatted HTML file.

    tell application "Microsoft Excel" to save as active sheet filename theFolder & "test.html" file format HTML file format

    Note that theFolder is a valid folder in the Office sandbox folder. The equivalent code in VBA works fine:

    ActiveSheet.SaveAs FileName:=theFolder & "test.html", FileFormat:=xlHtml

    Alternatively, could the VBA PublishObject object be added to the AppleScript dictionary?

  6. Easy or even just available data forms for data input on Office 2019

    We just need the basic data forms available to us! UGH it's ridiculous not to have that available and even readily available

  7. Mouse cursor disappears after running a macro in Excel for Mac version 16.15

    Need to fix a bug with mac Excel. After running a macro, the mouse cursor disappears. It reappears after typing in another program and coming back to Excel. This fix works sometimes but not all. This gets frustrating. The same macro runs fine in Windows Excel.

  11. macro options...

    If you select Tools - Macros - Macros... you get a list of macros. Select a macro and click Options... You're then presented with a box that allows you to set a Shortcut key. Either Option+Cmd (for a lower case letter) or Ctrl+Shift (for an upper case letter).

    It doesn't matter what I enter into the little box. Nothing works. No letter, upper or lower case, seems to work.

    Since generally keyboard shortcuts seem to be an issue has this ever worked?

  12. Allow Userforms that are modeless

    Allow Excel for Mac to support Userforms that are modeless, so that the Userform will not interrupt editing of the worksheet while the user form is shown.

  13. VBA bugs

    Hi. Thanks for providing a new VBA editor for Office 2016. I have a vba add-in I've been working on that shortly after some recent updates started having errors pop-up. Please fix Mac Office 2016 so in vba I can close open xlam files.

    In the attached add-in, I install statprogo.xlam, then in the ribbon, I can select, eg, Regression Analysis->Multiple... and then press cancel on the user form to get the error. The workbooks().close call is causing the error when it did not previously.

  14. User defined functions

    I developed an Excel Add-in that is coupled to a Fortran code in Excel 2016 for Mac. This works perfectly. However, it would be nice if the list of (user defined) functions could be visualised in a separate category or visualised anyway in the "Formula Builder" pane on the right side of the screen (in between the already existing categories and functions). I tried to use

    Sub AddUDFToCustomCategory()

    Application.MacroOptions Macro:="MyFunction", Category:="MyCat"

    End Sub

    but that does not work, nor in my develop Add-in, nor in a very simple Add-In with only one simple function.

    Looking forward to an answer!

    Teus

  15. Allow attaching symbols to quick-access toolbar buttons (as is the case in Excel for Windows)

    For many years I had a customized set of buttons in the toolbar at the top of Excel spreadsheets. Some of these were standardized commands (splitting the worksheet); others were macros I had created. These sped up my work significantly. I had hoped to use the Quick Access Toolbar in Excel for Mac 2016 to recreate the most important of these. I can do this, but they all have the same button symbol!! Could you allow me to replace the buttons with symbols, as I could in Excel for Mac 2011 and apparently could if I used Excel 2016 for…

  17. Solver in Excel for Mac gives wrong answers to problems with binary variables. I teach an optimization class where this is a big problem.

    Solver in the latest version of Excel for Mac gives wrong answers to problems with binary variables. I am a professor and I teach an optimization class where this is a big problem. Running Solver in the attached file (and many others) generates wrong answers in the latest Excel for Mac. It works fine in other versions of Excel, including Excel for Mac 2011.

  18. Fix Solver Solving Method drop down in Mac Excel 2016

    The drop down for select Solving Method in Solver does not work in Mac Excel 2016. Nothing happens when one clicks to reveal the drop down menu.

    One can select an alternate solving method via the arrow keys. Please fix the Solver drop down.

    Thank you.

  19. vba ODBC connection

    ActiveWorkbook.Connections("ConnectionName").ODBCConnection is broken. Please fix this single command. It is a blocking issue. All other ODBC commands are working as expected. Please fix this one so everything is working. Thanks

  20. Enable VBA Support for creating and editing UserForms (not the Data Form)

    In previous versions of Mac Excel you could create a Form/Dialog using VBA (called a VBA UserForm). In Mac Excel 2016, you can no longer do this. Please bring that functionality back. Note that this is different than the "Form" option on the Data menu. There's a separate suggestion on UserVoice for that.

    (March-2018: MS updated the Title and Description to avoid confusion with the Data Form request)

    Thanks for the suggestion and for the support of this feature. If you meant to vote for the Data Form, which is different than VBA UserForms, please change your vote to that suggestion instead. From reading the comments on this one, it seems that some clarification was needed.

    I updated the title and description for this one and we’ll continue to monitor for comments and votes.

    Here’s the link to the Data Form suggestion – https://excel.uservoice.com/forums/304933-excel-for-mac/suggestions/17930662-restore-data-form-functionality
