  1. Money in Excel: Multiple Accounts Per Institution

It's very common for a couple to both have accounts at one institution, but want to track data together. Unfortunately I can't use Money In Excel until this feature lands.

Money in Excel team here! Currently, this is the most upvoted request—we hear you! This is something we are actively working on since launching last month. We do not have an exact ETA yet. Just know that we are working on it along with many other features. One thing we can do, is circle back and let this thread know once it’s released. Keep giving us feedback, we appreciate all of it. Be safe!

  2. Canadian Financial Institutions not included

Using Microsoft Money, but I can't connect Financial Institutions from Canada, even very common ones such as TD or BMO. The links would be:
    https://www.td.com/ca/en/personal-banking/
    https://www1.bmo.com/onlinebanking/cgi-bin/netbnx/NBmain?product=5

    Hello,

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

Money in Excel currently doesn’t support non-US based financial institutions and we acknowledge the providing the functionality to add Canadian banks with Money in Excel would be a great feature. We will share your feedback to the apt team for review.

    Hello,

Thank you for your valuable feedback. Currently, Railroad & Industrial Federal Credit Union isn’t supported on Money in excel. We welcome your feedback and the same has been shared to our apt team for review in future.

  4. Unhide multiple worksheets at once

We can hide several worksheets at once, but we can only show them individually.

Although the VBA can solve this issue with some lines of code, but it would be a great improvement if you add this capability to Excel as a build in feature.

Good news. We are in the planning stages for improving the Unhide Sheet dialog box so that you can select multiple sheets and unhide them at the same time.

    Thanks for supporting this suggestion.

  5. Better Field List support for Analysis Services Tabular

It's about time to improve support for SSAS Tabular:
    1. Auto-generate DAX
    2. Avoid splitting a table into a "measure group" and "dimension". See how PBI Desktop handles metadata.
    3. Carry over data types so that users can create reports, such as show me invoices where Due Date is greater than ... Currently, all dimension table fields map to Text.
    4. Many customers have expressed interest to connect Excel tables directly to Tabular, bypassing Pivot Table, so they can use the column dropdowns and other Excel goodness.
    5. Support descriptions as tooltips when the user hovers on a field in…

I’ve modified the title of this request to better reflect the work that we are now planning to do. The original request included multiple features, some of which we now plan to implement while others will not happen anytime soon.

The work we plan to do is to quit showing tabular objects as if they were multi-dimensional in the PivotTable field list. We’ll stop splitting tables into measure groups and dimensions. We were already handling this correctly for the Excel data model, and we’ll extend that work to also handle external AS databases.

In addition, when a field is dragged to the Rows area of a PivotTable, we will also stop converting everything to strings. We’ll retain the field’s data type so that we can apply proper sorting and filtering to dates and other non-text fields.

We will not be switching to sending DAX queries from Excel, because this would…

  6. Have Excel scroll better when there are large cells.

If there's a really tall or wide cell, Excel jumps to the edge of the cell when scrolling past that area. This is a big pain when, for example:
    - trying to position a shape
    - Trying to grab the edge of the row or column in order to resize it.

Excel should just scroll normally without jumping.

I’m happy to let you know that we are in the planning stages to make Excel for Windows scroll without jumping to the edge of the cell so you’ll be able to scroll smoothly. We don’t yet have a target date, but wanted to tell you about our plans.

We appreciate all the votes and comments supporting this suggestion.

    Thanks – Steve K [Excel]

  7. Visually show which cells are selected even when another application has focus

Currently, when I select one or more cells and then switch to another application, the boundary box and shading for the selected cells are not shown. Other Office applications exhibit this behavior as well--selection highlighting is only displayed when the program has focus. Many (most?) non-Office applications show the highlighting at all times.

It would be far more useful to be able to glance at the spreadsheet and see which cells are selected, even when working in another program.

  8. Give us a proper NULL() worksheet function.

This would make calculations and charts treat a cell containing a formula as a blank cell, not as a cell with a text string ("") or as a zero.

Great suggestion – thanks again for taking the time to put it on this site and for the thoughtful followup comments. This is pretty related to some other work we’ve got going and already has a fair number of votes, so we’ll work on getting plans in place now and hope to get started on this soon.

    Thanks,
    John [MS XL]

This is an issue we are working on. We’ll be able to provide more details when we get closer to a release date.

    Thanks,
    Scott [MSFT]
