  1. Support # in excel hyperlinks for local system files

Currently hyperlinks in excel don't support '#' character. Hence, I am not able to create hyperlinks for local files whose path contain # character.Hence, all characters that are allowed in paths of files should be supported in hyperlinks in excel.

  3. F5 + "Name Cell" (voice command)

It would be nice setting a voice mark on cell (nameing the cell with the voice), so you can reach it quick and easy with F5 + "name cell" (using your voice), so the focus goes to the named cell. This would be specially useful when you work with very large spreadsheets.

  4. Please modify Autocorrect in Excel 2016 to allow formated entries

Word 2016 Proofing Autocorrect allows us to replace typed text with formatted text. This allows easy addition of eg, m2, km2 etc with superscripted numbers. In Excel there is no option for this. Though formatted text can be inserted by copying from the Character Map and pasting. Few users would know this. Please fix.

It would also be useful if Autocorrect entries in Word could be applied to Excel as I believe was once the case, but now doesn't seem to work.

  5. Search for Pivot Table fields when creating a Calculated Field

As per the ability to search for Pivot Table Fields within the field list tab - this ability should be extended to the popup window when creating a Calculated Field.

  6. Set up notifications for file changes from within Excel

In Office 365 we can now subscribe to file changes. It would be nice to set up these subscriptions/notifications within Office apps instead of having to open the browser and find the file we are currently in to set it up. Even if there is just a single button in Excel to take us directly to that file on the web and set up the notification. It would save a ton of clicks getting there.

Just opening "File Location" from the File menu isn't quite good enough if there are dozens/hundreds of files in a folder.

  8. Landscape and Portrait should be a toggle.

Landscape and Portrait should be a toggle. It would save clicks...there are only two options...one or the other

  9. Shadow sheets for any given worksheet

Right click a sheet tab where there would be a new option "Show Shadow Sheets" (with an 'extent to a sub-menu' triangle).
The sub-menu would have options like "Number formats", "Conditional formats", "Formulas"..
Clicking one of these options adds a check-mark to the list item and a new sheet appears beside the current sheet that would act as a special sheet of corresponding parameter values to the first sheet; sort of a 'shadow sheet' of parameters to the first one.

The sheet would have a demarcating format of some kind to show its special status as not another normal worksheet.…

  10. Exponential Trendline function

There is an issue with predicted values when using Exponential Trendlines in Excel. The predicted values are biased and consistently under-estimate the correct predicted values. For a simple correction to obtain more accurate predicted values, see attached. I hope that Microsoft will implement this change on the next Excel version/update.

  12. Indicator on file icon for files on sharepoint that are booked out. (Excel especially, for administrative maintanance.)

The idea is to see which files are locked by online users who are busy working on files (Excel specifically).

This means that there should be an indicator on the file icon in the browser, that works the same as the sync feature (the animated circling arrows that shows a file is in the process of being uploaded/synced).
This will make choosing a file for editing (maintanance) easier using Excel offline.

  13. hex2dec

HEX2DEC should be able to process 64bit quantities. Figuring out we can write a formula like this to process such a quantity by parts ... just should not be necessary:

    HEX2DEC(LEFT(D9,8))*POWER(2,32)+HEX2DEC(RIGHT(D9,8))

  15. Keep cell formatting when editing hyperlink

When you edit a hyperlink (eg the screentip or URL), the formatting gets set back to default hyperlink styling (eg blue underlined Times New Roman). I use completely different styling for hyperlinks (Wingdings, with conditional formatting defining the font colour) and it's so frustrating having to re-apply the formatting once you have edited a detail of it.

  16. Give us back our formatting windows, instead of the ridiculous formatting sidebars for objects, among other things.

Give us back the formatting windows, instead of the formatting sidebars for objects in Excel 2016. It is impossible to navigate the sidebars using the keyboard, as one used to the windows, significantly decreasing productivity.

  17. Power Query Sharepoint Dates Don't reflect regional settings

When querying a SharePoint list, it brings dates back as American format and not regionalised. Even though in SharePoint the date settings are set correctly to New Zealand, dates are incorrect. This also happens in Power Query in Excel and PowerBI. They display correctly in SharePoint. The query brings them back as Text, which also fails when converting to dates because our regional format is dd/mm/yyyy so any date like 16/11/2016 fails and gives an error. This makes querying SharePoint not really usable in our region. It also doesn't bring back timezone information.

  18. Find (and Replace) Next or Next-1 toggle

I refer to the "Find // Replace" function within the "Find & Select" option.

It would be much more useful if:

a/ The "Find NEXT" would could be toggled to search backward

    &

b/ That one was able to set personalize the DEFAULTS within the Options window

    Thank you

  19. Provide an option for multiple x-axes in xy-charts

Display of multiple data-sets in a single chart does not only require multiple y-axes, but often multiple x-axes as well. It would be of great help to have the option for at least 2 x-axes

  20. Combo Chart using primary and secondary axes

When i build a combo chart, some items are on primary axes and some on secondary because of different scales.

However, the labels are all mashed up into one giant box. It would be far better if the labels were shown on the same axes as the data series. It would make the chart much more self-explanatory.

Can you provide an example and steps for the problem that you are describing? Its not clear what you mean by “mashed up into one giant box.”

    Thanks,
    Scott [MSFT]
