  1. Pull Current Stock Prices and Historical Data Into Excel

Now that our ability to use Yahoo! Finance's API to pull in stock information via the WEBSERVICE() function and import historical information is officially dead (thanks Verizon!), the only viable option currently is to use Google sheets to pull in stock information.

It would be awesome if Excel could import data from MSN Money so us users can continue to use spreadsheets to monitor our portfolios.

    Hi everyone,
Stock data types are now available to all Windows Office 365 subscribers with an English editing language installed (our data is only available in English at this time). You can find some instructions on how to use the feature here: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/get-a-stock-quote-e5af3212-e024-4d4c-bea0-623cf07fbc54. The feature will also be appearing in Excel for Mac and Excel Online in early 2019 – as usual, Office Insiders will see the feature before the general population. See http://aka.ms/officeinsider for more info.

One pro tip to locate instruments on a different exchange is to include an ISO country code alongside the symbol, for instance MX MSFT will tell Excel to grab Microsoft from the Mexican stock exchange instead of Nasdaq. We’ll be publishing more thorough documentation in the near future.

We also acknowledge that this is only half of the requested feature in this suggestion – the current stock prices piece. The ability to…

  2. Need the ability to format multiple colours of text in one cell for excel online

Currently in Excel Online, when I format the colour of text in a single cell it changes the colour of all text in that cell. I would like the ability to change the colour of highlighted text only so I can have multiple colours of text in one cell.

After looking on multiple forums, I can see this has been an issue for many users for a number of years.

  3. Let me choose Decimal separator and Date order in PowerQuery instead of guessing

When importing textfiles using Get and Transform I always struggle with one thing: I do not know upfront what the decimal separator and date order is of my text file. PQ only offers to choose a Locale, but it does not tell me what date order and syntax, nor which decimal separator belongs to this locale.
I'd love to be able to just choose the relevant separators and date order from a couple of drop-downs. I can almost always see which it is I need from the data, but I hardly ever know which locale belongs to the specific combination…

  4. Release XLOOKUP to the world!

Why only release to 15 percent of users?! Let the world have XLOOKUP and XMATCH now()!

  5. Add a persistent unique "eternal" ID for each sheet as an alternative to name and index.

It would be extremely useful to me, and perhaps other developers, to have a unique read-only ID for each sheet that would *never* change. It would be assigned internally by Excel at the time the sheet was created. The idea would be for it to function as an auto-incrementing identity column does for a row in a database.

Why would this be useful? If you store sheet names anywhere in the workbook--such as in range or table--for use in VBA code *and* you allow the user to rename worksheets, your code will break as soon as the user renames a…

  9. Function and formulas recommended

    Suggested to Microsoft EXCEL
By creating the advantage of the proposed Function and formulas recommended
Such as recommended pivot tables and recommended charts

For example, the work of options for the user
For example if he wanted to compile on terms, he would have the formula SUMIFS ready and only a choice
Also like the search that VLOOKUP uses
    And so on
I hope the Microsoft community will support and encourage this idea

  11. Expand Dark Mode

Provide an option in dark mode in which the cell color defaults to black ( ie "no fill" results in a black background) and the text color defaults to white or light gray

  12. Enable to sort separate range columns in latest desktop version of Excel

Trying to sort out multiple columns in Excel but received an error!! This is possible on earlier versions of Excel desktop. Need to sort multiple columns at once.

  13. Make undo work per workbook, not for all of Excel. I am commonly working in two workbooks and need to undo something I did in the other work

Ctrl + Z should work per workbook, not for all of Excel. I commonly have two workbooks open and work in them simultaneously, but when I use the undo shortcut it backs out through all of excel, instead of just the active workbook.

  14. slicer red x

FIX SLICER RED X ON FILTER
Since upgrading to Office 365, all my slicers now have red X on the filter button, regardless of any filtering. In 2016, the X turned red only when the slicer was filtered, otherwise it was greyed out. Now, in 365, ALL slicers ALWAYS have a red x. No way of scanning quickly to see which slicers are filtered. They all LOOK like they are filtered, whether they are or not.

  16. Text to Formula

A formula to convert text to a formula; which is essentially the exact opposite of the FORMULATEXT function, or in a way, what the INDIRECT function does with cell references but with formulas.

  17. Modify the Optional Search mode Parameter to specify Instance number of the Search term in XLOOKUP

Make The [Search mode] parameter to accept values as below
1,2,3 etc to mean 1st instance, 2nd instance etc from the top
-1,-2,-3 to mean 1st instance , 2nd instance etc from bottom

The search algorithm is already specified in the [Match Mode] parameter so there is no need to duplicate it again in [Search mode]

  18. Multiple sheet Unhide option..

Unhiding multiple sheets is a painful task, you have to go one by one. There should be an option to unhide multiple sheets at once.

    Please bring in this feature.

    Thanks.

  19. Update Visual Basic for Applications

Visual Basic for Applications is still version 7.1 from 2012. It's high time that power user portion of the application received updates to the interface, IntelliSense, and features. That portion of the program needs to be aligned with the current features now available within the Microsoft Suite. It also needs a facelift to the Userforms palette. I suggest starting with Excel, where VBA is most widely used, then PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.

Don't go destroying developer's programs, just add interoperability, functions, and facelift.

  20. Add a floating totals row to dynamic arrays

When using dynamic arrays, it would be nice to have the option of a floating totals row at the bottom of the dynamic spill range.
