  1. Ticket #12395436 - Excel arabic

    Hi, we experience an issue with MS Excel and the arabic language pack: User does right click on desktop and selects new Excel Workbook. New Workbook opens and first column A is on the right of the sheet and title of the sheet is arabic. If user just starts excel and creates a new workbook within excel all is working as expected, only if user selects new workbook from right click to desktop this happens. We installed the arabic language pack and this seems to affect the default template of excel.

    -sign(x*y)*atan((abs(x)-abs(y))/(abs(x)+abs(y))) when x=x2-x1 ,y=y2-y1

    2)atan(E,N)=pi-pi/2*(1+sgn(N))*(1-sgn(E^2))-pi/4*(2+sgn(N))*sgn(E)

    -sgn(N*E)*atan((abs(N)-abs(E))/(abs(N)+abs(E))) when N=N2-N1 ,E=E2-E1

    The above fuctions give the directions in the 4 quadrans for all the pairs of dx and dy.

    For dx=dy=0 the result is indefinite .

  3. Multiple sheet Unhide option..

    Unhiding multiple sheets is a painful task, you have to go one by one. There should be an option to unhide multiple sheets at once.

    Please bring in this feature.

  4. Setting row height from 0.21" (default) to 0.5" on Page Layout does not give the proper Excel Output

    Custom Margin Settings for 2 Excel files were both set this way:

    Top: 0.5
    Bottom: 0.5
    Left: 0.7
    Right: 0.7
    Header: 0
    Footer: 0
    *no other settings modified

    First Excel File

    View > Workbook Views > Page Layout
    Highlighted first 20 Rows > Home > Cells Section > Format > Row Height > Set Row Height from 0.21" to 0.50"
    Which results in row 21 showing up on the first page,

    Second Excel File

    View > Workbook Views > Page Layout
    Highlighted first 20 Rows > Home > Cells Section > Format > Row Height > Set Row Height from…

  5. Add a CONTAINS("find_text","within_text") Function

    Excel's own documentation recommends pairing the ISNUMBER and SEARCH functions to accomplish this, but I still have team members asking on a regular basis for a function that returns whether a string is found within a given cell. An out of the box CONTAINS() function would go a long way for usability.

  6. Convert Number to Word (SpellNumber)

    A very much need function which should allow Excel users to convert number to word.

    Example :
    1. $ 450.00 it should convert to US Dollars four hundred fifty and zero cents only.
    2. SAR 450.00 it should convert to Saudi Riyals four hundred fifty and zero halalas only.

    Note : the conversion should be based on regional setting and user should be able define the currency code.

    =SpellNumber([cellReference],"CurrencyCode")

  7. Add a Reporting Ribbon to Excel to consolidate and highlight the amazing capabilities of Power Query and Power Pivot

    Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot and Pivot Tables are amazing tools that will transform the way people build their reports, but only once they know about them!

    Let's SHOUT about how good these things are and how well they work together by putting them onto a single new Ribbon called "Reporting" - something like the attached image.

  8. Eliminate the new "Save your changes to this file?" dialog box

    In the last week, whenever I close down a new Excel file without saving it, a new dialog box appears asking "Save changes to this file?". Whereas previously I could use keyboard shortcuts to immediately close down a file (Ctrl-F4, N), this no longer works. Instead, the new box interprets the "N" keypress as something to be entered into the "File Name" text field.

  9. Alt+ shortcuts are stuck/hanging in the ribbon and require a mouse click to continue. Have tried endless options to no avail.

    All of my ALT+ shortcuts are not working properly. For example ALT+H+H+N to remove fill on a cell does the following: the execution is preformed, the fill is removed, but my selection remains on the home tab of the ribbon and does not allow me to continue navigating the sheet. This is true for all ALT+ shortcuts, and randomly started occurring today. I have tried repairing, reinstalling, restarting, etc. etc.etc.

    I rely heavily on ALT shortcuts as Im not one to constantly click the ribbon tools.

  11. Update Visual Basic for Applications

    Visual Basic for Applications is still version 7.1 from 2012. It's high time that power user portion of the application received updates to the interface, IntelliSense, and features. That portion of the program needs to be aligned with the current features now available within the Microsoft Suite. It also needs a facelift to the Userforms palette. I suggest starting with Excel, where VBA is most widely used, then PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.

    Don't go destroying developer's programs, just add interoperability, functions, and facelift.

  12. Enable Excel to send a Task to Outlook

    Some users use Excel for tracking of various tasks or operational reviews. At the end, follow-up minutes and tasks will have to be created. It would be great to have a function like in OneNote to create a Task in Outlook. Information about Due Date and Assignee should be embeddable into the cell with a little popup window.
    When in Outlook, you should be able to click the task and go back to the Excel document (and specific cell) stored on the SharePoint.

  13. Create a command line tool for signing Office files with a digital certificate

    Besides Office, Excel files can be created using numerous software tools. More often than not, batches of macro-enabled Excel files are processed with scripts for productivity purposes. However, VBA code signing cannot be part of an automated process, as it is a manual task that requires opening & saving the file in Excel.

    This request is about creating a command line tool for signing Office files with a digital certificate, similar to MS SignTool.

    In addition, the existing macro signing process in Office is not 100% compatible with Open XML specifications. I can clarify this statement in a private discussion…

  14. Retain text formatting after changing formula references inside shapes/textboxes

    This has been a bug (in my mind) forever. For some reason, if you have an Excel shape nicely formatted and you go to link it to a cell to make the text dynamic, all the text formatting gets reset. This is really extremely annoying if you are creating a visually stimulating dashboard and want to duplicate a bunch of perfectly formatted shapes. Proceeding to link the shapes to various cells so that they display your data completely resets the formatting.

    I created a VBA workaround to make it seem like the text format is retained, but this functionality should…

  15. select date for open/close stock

    You should be able to pick dates when selecting stock info.

    E.g set the date as 06/11/2019 to get XNAS:MSFT open price on that day.

  17. Single Page Zoom

    When in Page Layout mode, have the option to zoom out on one page. Word has a "One Page" option in the zoom settings. Excel is default to "Multiple Pages" when zooming out and scrolling. Would be nice to see how the document will appear printed out.

  18. Highlite Active row for easier navigation on sheet....

    I work with lots of lines and its tireing to try and track which row im on,
    Please try and Highlight the active row.

  19. Power Query Time Stamp of last updated Data

    Hi All,

    I import data using Power Query from multiple resources and Lots of time I have seen in Power Query that even though we click on Refresh All still not all tables refreshes the data in Power Query Editor.

    So I am looking for feature of option in Power Query that shows last data import date. So that user easily know if all the resources have been updated or not or when it last refreshed ?

  20. Please Please Please Bring Back MDI. SDI simply doesn't support the types of applications I have spent my career developing in Excel

    Please bring back MDI for Excel. SDI is really slow, and crashes when I run the apps I've developed over my career that rely on multiple workbooks loaded simultaneously. Or re release 2010 and just call it the version for the folks who rely on MDI and there are a lot of us!!!!!!
