  4. OCR Handwritten Text

OCR (optical character recognition) to come in the future for excel? VBA (and Python) automating a collection of images/pictures/scanned images to retrieve data?

    OCR?

    Optical handwritten recognition?

Not my original idea except the Python automation part currently performed by VBA, but this would be great.

  5. More STOCKHISTORY like functions

Can you please make more functions like STOCKHISTORY so that we can directly use Excel functions to get stock info , without the need to use stocks data type? e.g. =STOCKPRICE("MSFT") Also, can you make it an RTD like function so that Excel can get streaming prices or other market info? And maybe let users to choose the data source. Refinitiv is great, but it's better to have more options.

    Hello,

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

Currently Money in Excel doesn’t support the functionality of importing transactions manually from the account. It currently supports transaction sync up to 90 days from the date you signed in with the account on Money in Excel. We understand that providing the functionality to import older transactions to Money in Excel would be a great feature hence we will share your feedback with the apt team for review.

Thank you for using Money in Excel!

    Best,

  10. Power Query should allow Get from Folder from a Ondrive folder URL (not the mapped folder on the local file system)

Power Query allows Get from Folder from a local file system. If we are using Onedrive, we have to first map the folders to that local file system. We cannot directly enter the URL of the Onedrive folder as an https URL.

This would avoid the problem of having queries break when the local file system is different between, say, my work and my home PCs. EG the work folder may be C:\Users(work userid)\Onedrive - (my onedriveID)\folder name. But my home folder is C:\Users(home userid)\Onedrive - (my onedriveID)\folder name.
I'd be happy to use "try Folder.Files (work*) otherwise Folder.Files (home*)…

  12. For the money in excel feature, allow manual input of accounts because some of the security features don't work well with the current import

Allow manual import of accounts for money in excel because some institutions don't work well with the current import method (e.g., wealthfront with 2 factor authentication that uses an authenticator app)

  13. PST Splitter tool to divide Outlook PST files

If anyone wants to break the large oversized PST files then I would suggest to use the MailsDaddy PST Split Tool. It breaks the large PST file according to date, size, email-id, and folder. This Software supports ANSI and UNICODE Version of PST files. The PST Splitter tool divides the PST files without installing MS-Outlook.

  14. Best NSF to PST Converter Tool

NSF to PST Converter is the best software to convert Lotus Notes to PST format. The software gives a free preview of the entire data before the conversion process. you can also convert NSF files to PST formats without installing outlook. It also converts corrupted, highly-encrypted, and password protected NSF files to PST format.

  16. Excel is getting worse for each version

Excel is getting worse for each version. Before it was easy for me to import csv or skv files. Now you think that Excel is smarter than me and converts everything to skv. If I copy and paste from notepad it defaults to skv WHY, I HAVENT ASKED YOU TO CONVERT!!! I often want to treat data as CSV NOT SKV. Before I pasted the data in column A and then used TEXT to columns. Worked perfectly. Now everything gets corrupt because YOU have decided that YOU know whats best. I do this sometimes 20 times a day and half…

  17. Raise an error if Workbooks.Open text file exceeds row limit

The debacle in the UK over lost Covid-19 results appears to have been a silent failure by Excel when the number of rows in a CSV/text file exceeded the sheet dimensions. This was in Excel 2003 (or earlier) but the same behaviour is in the latest Excel. Workbooks.Open "File.csv" does NOT raise an error if the file line count exceeds the sheet rows, which is inconsistent with the UI File>Open behaviour, which DOES show an error message. So make them consistent please. My analysis is at https://sysmod.wordpress.com/2020/10/13/uk-covid-19-track-trace-excel-snafu-uncontrolled-spreadsheets-lead-to-data-loss/

A related post but not referring to raising an error is at https://excel.uservoice.com/forums/274580-excel-for-the-web/suggestions/10550871-csv-import-exceeding-row-limit

  20. Name The New Tab The Same As The Power Query Table Being Imported

When importing a power query into a worksheet and choosing the New worksheet option, automatically name the worksheet tab the same name as the query.
Example: I have a sales table (or query) in Access. Using Get and Transform, I connect to the table in Excel Power Query Editor. The table name in the Power Query Editor is "FactSales". After transforming the data as needed I choose

    Close and Load To

    x Table
    - PivotTable Report
    - PivotChart
    - Only Create Connection
Where do you want to put this data
    Existing worksheet:

       =$A$1

    x New worksheet

    After choosing Table and…
