  1. Add Dividend Data to Stock Data Type

It would be helpful to include the dividend amount per share and ex-dividend date with the stock data type.

    • Show Tables in Power Query when opening an xlsb file

When using Power Query / Get Data to open .xlsx files and .xlsm files, the Tables present in those files are shown in a list.
When opening a .xlsb file only Sheets are shown and not any of the Tables present within the file.

If there is only one table on a sheet, AND it starts in cell A1, then it is relatively easy to still load the data, but where there are multiple tables per sheet, OR the tables don't start in A1, then there is a lot of unnecessary work deleting Rows and or Columns to obtain your…

        • Add Get Parameter button to Power Query and avoid Privacy / Formula.Firewall problems

It's fantastic that you can pick up named ranges in Excel and pass them to Power Query as parameters. However the process is cumbersome and often results in Formula.Firewall warnings or other issues.

This leads to having to switch Privacy Levels to "Ignore" or having to write a query within a query rather than nice and clean "parameter" queries.

It would really simplify things if we could quickly create parameter queries (including a drop down to select parameter type) and that these queries would be immune from the Privacy warnings.

          • Can you add snipping tool option to Excels ink equation feature?

Equations are sometimes in imagine form so they can not be simply transformed in to Excel. One way is to draw them with ink equation feature. So if there could be a snipping option to select equations to ink equations that would convert them to Excel equation. That would be a lot faster than manually drawing them.

            • Please include other data in the new Data Types feature in Excel. The data for dividends is totally missing.

For dividend/income investers, we really need dividend information if the data types for stocks is to be useful.

                • Power Query, hide the query (like in Power Pivot)

                  Hi,

In Power Pivot, you can hide measures. That's a very good point to hide to the end-users some intermediate calculation.

I really want to have the same feature to Power Query to hide some important queries (for instance the one with a direct access to a table in a database).
                  Like in VBA xlVeryHidden ;)

                    • Load Tables as separate queries into Power Query Editor in one step

When we have multiple Excel Tables in a workbook, and we want to load them as separate queries into Power Query, it is quite time consuming as we need to load the Excel Table one by one.
A quicker workaround is to use Excel.CurrentWorkbook() function to load Excel Tables in to PQ Editor, then right-click the Table and select "Add new query"... Although it is feasible, it requires a lot of clicks. Imagine we have 20 Tables to load...
So my suggestion is, to add one more option to "Expand"... as Separate Queries.

                        • Enable get data from Sharepoint on Excel for Business licence

It's ridiculous that this feature is only enabled if you pay more. The Office 365 Business users are already paying for the ecosystem so why freeze out basic functional to get and share data just so that you can make more of a profit.

                          • Excel Hyperlink/Connections

My Scenario. I have 1 Workbook which is designated specifically for keeping track daily and calculating employee time, over time, and calculating their pay. In this workbook, each day has a hyperlink to a more specific sheet stating what tasks were performed, for which client, and calculates time with clients. Id like to be able to automatically send the time on the daily client time worksheet to the Time Table worksheet using the hyperlink.

                            • Provide an Option for Column to Text

It would be nice to have a Column to Text option inside Excel.
Currently we can move from Text to Column but the other way round is not provided.
Recently while working with a database, I faced this issue. I had to convert database from MM to INCH. I pasted the database inside excel and moved each value (Semicolon separated) to a separate column using Text to Column. I updated the values using formula.
However, I needed it to be delimited by semicolon again to put it back into database. And I could not do it by any built in…

                              • Excel should treat numbers in a general field as text if they exceed 15 digits

When a table with a number string longer than 15 digits (think credit card numbers) is pasted into Excel, it will be treated as number and everything after the first 15 digits IS CHANGED to 0. Excel should treat numbers in a general field as text if they exceed 15 digits instead of modifying the data.

                                • Better link SSAS data types and sort by columns

Currently when I build an SSAS (Tabular) model with a date column (date format) it comes across as a general (text) format and cannot be sorted chronologically. This occurs even when the set sort by column is integer. It appears that Excel is not reading the data types or sort by columns from the SSAS model. Other tools (ie Power BI) are able to handle this correctly.

                                  • Enable autosave when inserting objects to workbook

I inserted objects by clicking Insert> Object> Create from File> Browse...> Choose a file such as Word document, PNG/JPEG image, PowerPoint document, Excel document, iqy file, PDF file and some other kinds of documents> OK> Save the file to OneDrive.
All the results are that the error message appears, so if users insert objects (not only PDF files) in Excel workbook and save it to OneDrive, the autosave will be disable. So I would like to request autosave should be work when I insert object.

                                    • Add support for custom data connectors (Power Query M extensions)

Custom Data Connectors mechanism is being developed by Power BI Desktop team:

                                      * https://github.com/Microsoft/DataConnectors
                                      * https://github.com/Microsoft/DataConnectors/blob/master/docs/m-extensions.md

Excel's Get & Transform engine (Power Query) should have support for *.mez/*.pqx extensions too.

                                      • Generate preview icons for files (objects) linked in Excel & Word

                                        Hi,
I'd like to generate preview images from files that are hyperlinked through Office products (specifically Excel and Word). Use case is hyperlinks connected to a large number of files in a small engineering business/ supply chain environment. I have the ability to batch generate hyperlinks in MS Office, however I need the ability for those hyperlinks to display preview images (or icons of adjustable size) for data users without product background, technical experience, or the time to source the information through the directory structure.
                                        Many thanks!
