  2. Goto Sheet option in Excel Workbooks

When we are working with a workbook with large number of sheets, it is a challenge navigating between different sheets.

It would be great if you can introduce a GoTo <sheet #> option which can assist in navigation better

  3. Allow selection of columns to freeze those ones specifically.

Using the freeze panes button, it says it is based off of current selection but it seems like it is based off of current view. should be based off of selection of rows and or columns

  5. Allow users to unhide more than just 1 sheet at a time

Having to unhide sheets one by one is obnoxious, feels like this could be an easy feature to add

  6. Excel zoom focus selection

Dear MS, In Excel we have the potential to zoom in and out from sheets, similar to what we can do in PowerPoint. However where PowerPoint very well zooms in on active elements (if we mark a graphic, then this centers during the zooming acion), Excel is has a terrible feature that it does do some random behaviour in relation to zooming with selected cells, but Excel completely ignores selected graphics... Excel could be updated to always account to center the selected item during zooming. That would be much more easy in large sheets as now always scrollbars are needed.…

Please reinstate all original freeze panes options:
Freeze pane rows above selected row (toggle with "Unfreeze pane rows...")
Freeze pane columns to the right of the selected column (toggle with "Unfreeze pane columns...")
    Unfreeze all panes

  8. Sheet View -- should apply to hide/unhide columns/rows, freeze panes, not just filter/sort

While co-authoring, need the ability to see my view, while others have their own view. This feature MUST extend beyond filter/sort and apply to hide/unhide columns and rows, freeze panes.

  9. Lotus 123 style cursor (active row/column position)

For large workbooks, I have seen people literally hold a ruler on the screen to confirm values across the row.

It would be nice to toggle a view setting that would enable the Cross hairs style navigation Lotus 123 had, where the left border of the active column and lower border of the active row for the selected cell is a darker color.
I've seen add ins / macros online but this really feels like it is something missing from the native out of the box experience.

  10. QuickBooks - Easy to excel

Excel is the pillar for performing any business activity, many people not able to work properly due to the lack of excel skills. I am suggesting one platform that will help to perform industry practices easily even if excel is not good as QuickBooks Tool Hub is the web-based accounting tool that help to cater the financial needs of the business by performing book-keeping, invoice generation and bills preparation, with great accuracy it is useful in tax management also.

  11. Improved group collapse/expand controls

When groups (e.g. level 1) and sub-groups (e.g. Level 2) share the same last row, the collapse/expand control (+/-) for level 2 sub-group is omitted and the level 1 control is overloaded to expand the last sub-group. Suggest you explicitly provide expand/collapse controls for groups and sub-groups even if they end up on the same row.

  12. Active Cell auto-highlights cell row and column

I believe it would be useful to automatically highlight (in a colour chosen by the user but a default lightly-noticeable colour e.g. lightgrey would be good) the row and column associated with the active cell(s)

  16. Allow users with view-only permission to use Sheet Views

Currently when 'sharing' view-only access to a workbook that has multiple sheet views set up, these users cannot use / select any of the sheet views (option is greyed out). Would like for these users to be able to use specific sheet views to sort/filter but not give them 'edit' permissions.

  17. Make the "condensed" view of ribbon able to be pinned. (For all Office apps)

Right now, I have one of two options:

    • Unpin the ribbon and see nothing, until I click on a menu option (Home, Layout, View, etc.). Only then do I get the condensed ribbon layout.
    • Or I can pin the ribbon—for easy access—however, selecting this option leaves me with a much larger ribbon, with a lot of empty/wasted space between the icons.

It makes little sense to me that I can't pin the condensed version of the ribbon, as seen when unpinning and clicking through.

  18. Smooth Scrolling

Excel needs to be able to scroll smoothly instead of snapping to cells. It can be frustrating to try to edit larger cells because Excel is always snapping to the top of the cell.

  19. Please make Excel again obey the "Scroll inactive windows" setting in Windows 10

An update within the last quarter of 2020 messed with excel and the "Scroll inactive windows" setting for windows 10 is now no longer followed by Excel

    Please fix this once again.

  20. Trailing top Row

In my experience when making an Excel file, in the first row of each column I title the type of information/data set that I want to be entered in each subsequent row starting at 2 onward.

However, when the list is long (many rows down) and there are many columns I frequently have to scroll back to the top to ensure I am entering the data in the correct column, then scroll all the way back down.

It would be nice to have an option in Excel to have a trailing first row where the Titled Columns scroll down with…
