      • Need to find file in folder without opening

        I just had my hard drive replaced. Now I'm trying to get back up. I have a file I wanted to save in the original directory so I went to OneDrive. It couldn't open the file because of encryption. I didn't want it open. I just wanted the location. But it didn't give me the location. I had to open it on my computer.

          • Save Autocorrects

            I would like the entries made in the "autocorrect" to be stored with my account such that if i re-install office or windows, that i do not have to re-enter all of my shortcuts.

            For example, i often refer to a building of ours with an abbreviation, say 185M. I have created an autocorrect entry that reads 185M and changes it to 185 Madison Avenue, NY NY. now that i have reinstalled windows, i have to re-do that entry along with MANY others!!!

            • being able to lock fonts for specific cells that are left unlocked

              regarding protected sheets. for the cells that are left unlocked, so others can edit those specific cells. being able to lock the fonts for those unlocked cells so the cell can be edited but only with the specific fonts style and size

              • drop down lists

                When selecting from a drop down list, using the keyboard should be enabled to type the first few letters, or numbers of the selection, to speed up selection.

                eg list: Abroath, Bath, Cambridge, Devon, Ely
                typing "c" and "enter" should be sufficient to make the selection for Cambridge

                  ...the File Properties for Excel documents would have a reporting of "Total editing time" similar to that applicable to MS Word. Not sure if that is an easy implementation but it would be fantastic to track that document statistic. With ongoing appreciation for the good work you do.

                    There should be a way to delete an entire Excel book or a sheet in a book

                    • Data validation list- a collective improvemnet

                      1- Completing the inputted data in the Data validation list while typing it in a cell: Meaning, if you have "January" in the Data Validation List, and you typed "Jan" it will complete it for you. Additionally, it would be nice if it not just completed the inputted data but also suggested 5 more and if you clicked the down arrow button you would select similar to how you typed in google search bar.

                      2- The list size is relative to zoom level of the sheet, so I would suggest either making the list independent of the sheet zoom level…

                      • Reorder columns easily

                        There should be an easy way to grab a column or multiple and drag them to another spot. For example, if you select columns D & E you could then drag and drop them before column B (then they would become columns B & C). Right now you have to make 2 new columns, then copy over, very tedious. The same suggestions for rows of course.

                          • Option to turn off search in selection

                            Currently, when you ctrl-f for something and have a selection it only searches within that selection.

                            I would like a global option to turn this behaviour off so that the search is as if there is no selection.

                            • Edit cells with enter

                              Currently, when pressing Enter it moves the cursor down one cell.

                              I would like a global option so when I press enter it edits the cell similar to how F2 works. Moving down a cell can be done with the down arrow.

                              • We cannot open another excel if any of the data filled cell in F2(Edit) mode unless and otherwise to make the data filled cell to Ready mode

                                Solution:
                                If user is trying to open another excel when particular data filled cell is in edit mode,TAB key function has to be automatically executed by the system in order to bring that particular cell to Ready mode to Edit mode.

                                • Comment referring to a range of cells, not just single cells / Commenting overhaul

                                  I often need to review workbooks and need to make comments on a range of cells, not just individual ones. When I select a range and 'insert comment' it will only refer to the top left cell and give no relation to the range that was selected.

                                  I overcome this with text boxes over the cells, or by colouring the lot a distinct colour - neither of these are ideal.

                                  What I would like is the function where, on hover of the comment, the cells shade/highlight to reflect that the comment is relating to all those cells, not just the…

                                    I notice when I updated my data for August 2018 PowerQuery calculated the EOMonth for August as August 20, 2018, which is incorrect. The correct date is August 31st. I believe PowerQuery returned the 30th because September ends on the 30th rather than the 31st. So, PowerQuery is taking the end of the current month and assuming the previous month ended on the 30th like the current month. Since some days have 31 vs 30 days, it creates a disconnect.. Could you look into correcting this? Thank you.

                                    • DisableCopyUnusedCustomStyles Not working when Excel running in separate instance

                                      Basically, when you copy a single cell from a workbook that contains x number of custom styles, all of the styles copy into the other workbook. All of them.

                                      there is a registry entry called DisableCopyUnusedCustomStyles that can be added to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\excel\xx.0\Options that will prevent this behavior....but only when running in the same EXE instance.

                                      But running in separate EXE instances and doing a copy of a cell from a workbook with many custom styles, into a brand new workbook copies all of the style. We…
