  1. Excel would be great if it added the "Change Case" drop down menue from Word to Excel

    By adding Word's "Change Case" options to Excel it would improve Excel's editing abilities and increase customer productivity adding value to the Excel product

    • Ability to right click and take the sum in the status Bar

      In the status bar when you select a bunch of numbers it shows the Sum, Average and Count (default setting). A feature where one can right click on the status bar and copy the sum (or Average or count) to paste it in another file would be super useful. Sometimes we need to select a few items and quickly get the sum etc and probably paste it in an email or take the data into another excel file. That way one can avoid writing formulas or scribbling it on a piece of paper.

        • Notification to other users of a file.

          Have an option to notify the user who has a file open that another user wants to edit the file; not just a notify button for yourself to be informed when the file is closed by the other user.

          • Allow user to select ranges and edit cells within a merged cell without un-merging cells

            PROBLEM: We often have tables (not always defined as a formal table range) that include horizontally merged cells within a row. On occasion, we need to delete a block of cells from the center of the table where the merged rows span over the cells being deleted. This operation cannot be performed because we cannot specifically select the block of cells we want to delete.

            GLITCH: When a block selection includes horizontally merged cells, the selection is forced to expand to included the full width of any merged cells included in the range. This, in turn, forces a widened selection…

            • Provide an option to create a text editor over a rectangular region of user selected cells

              The current options for including a block of multi-line text in a sheet are either typing into a region of merged cells or using a floating textbox object. Both forms have substantial usability issues. For example, entering text into a region of merged cells requires hitting Alt-Enter to insert line breaks meaning two key strokes which is in contrast to the universal accepted way of pressing Enter.                   • Option to make line break (alt+enter) the default behavior of Enter key

                    As part of my work, I spend a ton of time writing text inside of Excel spreadsheet cells. What I'm writing needs to be neatly formatted and easily legible, so my cells contain many line breaks.

                    I find it endlessly frustrating that a line break requires Alt+Enter instead of simply Enter. I virtually never require the Enter key's default behavior of moving the selected cell. I end up hitting Enter out of habit, switch cells, and lose where I was with my typing.

                    • Assume HTTPS if HTTP/HTTPS is not specified in a hyperlink

                      If I type "www.microsoft.com" in a cell and press Enter, a hyperlink to "http://www.microsoft.com/" is automatically created. The hyperlink should instead be "https://www.microsoft.com/" to help promote good security. See the video linked below to see why HTTP should never be used.

                      For now, the rule should be this: if HTTP/HTTPS is not specified in a link, try to connect using HTTPS. If the connection succeeds, use the HTTPS version of the link. Otherwise, use the HTTP version.

                      • Maintain the position of the search/"Find and Replace" dialog box (and others), except as necessary to expose the found object’s cell

                        The search/"Find and Replace" dialog box currently moves to a new position each time it is opened. It appears to be moving slightly down and to the right, such as a cascaded window. This causes the user to have to look to a new location each time Find or Replace is used. The most awkward, time consuming, and frustrating problem with this movement is: when the dialog box reaches the bottom of the screen, it stays there; and in that position the results table of Find All is hidden.                           • Allow quick access to user-defined symbol subsets

                            In the "Symbols" selection window, we have "Recently used symbols" which is nice for locating a previously used symbol but it does not scale for large collections, on the contrary, the fact that it reorders the symbols such that the last selected symbol is placed at the beginning of the list makes it difficult to locate a specific symbol by recalling it's static position. The suggestion asks for the ability to create user-defined subsets of Unicode characters per font that can be shown quickly by clicking on a "quick access toolbar" item or custom ribbon button

                            • Gropuing applied steps in powerquery

                              I would love to be able to group applied steps into folders. With multiple steps applied navigating up and down the pane can be a pain. Grouping them in a namable group with expand and contract buttons would be awesome. You guys should definitely do this one. I would be super happy.

                                • New Feature "Spotlight"

                                  Spotlight - This feature would be activated by highlighting cells, rows, columns, or find all feature, right click to activate, and Excel would keep a spot light (highlight) on those specific cells, until the escape key is pressed, or until it is deactivated. Would make it much easier to work on specific cells/ rows/ columns in a large data set. The cells would remain highlighted for editing purposes, until deactivated.

                                  • About the sheets

                                    When i work with many sheets, it is not pretty to see many sheets on the bottom. I suggest, you can make a new tab as "Sheets" on the ribbon. Inside this tab, we can see the list of sheets, add a sheet, delete a sheet and all other functions belonging to sheet control.

                                      Even for numbers or dates you should be able to use "Copy Cells" in stead of "Fill series"

                                      • In the Dutch version, you now have two kinds of "opmerkingen"

                                        You have introduced a second kind of comment. In the Dutch version, you now have two "opmerkingen" next to each other. I suggest you keep the old one as "opmerkingen" and rename the new comment boxes to "notitie", "commentaar", or "aantekening" . I'd prefer the first, as it is shorter.
