  1. A Better Spell Checking in Excel

🇺🇸 A good spell checker is important in any software. In Microsoft Word, it's a classic. In the modern web browsers, the dictionaries are there to help us write better as we type.

Excel should have the same ability to highlight our errors, as shown in the image:

🇧🇷 Um bom verificador ortográfico é importante em qualquer software. No Microsoft Word, é um clássico. Nos navegadores da web modernos, os dicionários estão lá para nos ajudar a escrever melhor à medida que digitamos.

O Excel deveria ter a mesma capacidade de destacar nossos erros, como mostrado na imagem:

  2. There is No direct command for clearing the Data Validation on the Ribbon

Everyone is using Data Validation in Excel for simple or complex projects. However if you decide to clear your data validation rules there is No direct command on the ribbon to do that: So you have to go to the Data Tab >> Open the data Validation dialog box >> Click on Clear All >> Close the dialog Box.
My suggestion is to integrate this functionality with the Data Validation button in the ribbon (as explained in the attached Graphic) which will enable the user with a click to either clear Data Validation from a selected range or from the…

  5. Separate Excel windows shall not share an UNDO buffer.

Sorry Microsoft, but you really blew it in the 2016 update. Separate Excel windows used to be separate Excel windows. Now they share the same buffers for Undo, copy/paste, and highlighting. This is really limiting when working comparatively on two spreadsheets.

  6. Paste Special - Formulas without Adjusting References

There should be a Paste Special option to paste formulas without updating relative references.

  8. When we start typing text into a cell, please allowed us to use the Back Arrow key. (i.e. please put us into Edit Mode without the F2 key!)

    Hello

When I start typing text into any empty cell in Excel (without first hitting F2) I want to be taken into full-on "Edit Mode".

This would mean that when I hit the Back Arrow [probably because I have made a mistake in the text that I am trying to enter] I would NOT have my text to be submitted into my spreadsheet so that Excel can put into the CELL on the left of where I am.

No other applications behave like Excel. I find it very, VERY annoying.
Yes, I know I could remember to press F2 first…

  12. Comment threads for workbook tabs

Add the ability to create comment threads for workbook tabs not just the individual cells; this would be very beneficial for large workbooks

  17. Remove Paste Options box by pressing Escape

In Microsoft Office, certain actions lead to various boxes popping up (do these have a name? "Annoying boxes"?). Throughout Office there is a Paste Options box after you paste copied material; Excel also has a Quick Analysis box when you select appropriate data. These boxes frequently over-lie the thing you are trying to do next, so can be very annoying. In most cases, you can dismiss them by pressing the Esc key, but the Paste Options Annoying Box doesn't go in Excel (it does in Word, but not in PowerPoint).

I don't want to disable them, as they are sometimes…

  18. fill without changing border

Why is this not already fixed??? We should be able to change fill and borders like we do in Word. I want to change a select set of cells where the bg is different BUT NOT CHANGE THE BORDERS... and no, I don't want to run VBA. Lazy coding team get to work on this now.

  19. Data validation "Ignore if empty" feature ignores all if a Name is used as list source

This important bug has been known for YEARS and I've reported it several times on the FEEDBACK APP. It's a pain in the **** becasue I use drop-down lists with Names in everything.
If you use data validation with dropdown lists and the source is a named range, if you check the "ignore if empty" then the data validation won't work, i.e. the user can enter anything they want. If you uncheck the "ignore if empty" it will always display the annoying green corner even if an empty cell is part of the selection list.
    Either way it's an abnormal…
