  2. Why is it so difficult to export to XML with Excel?

In Access I can just select Export to XML and done. It's would be great to have that option in Excel too, rather than having to assign fields one by one. Surely it's great to have such powerful options, but when I just want a simple XML file it's not worth the effort. I always end up exporting to Access and doing the job from there.

  7. 512 bit Microsoft Excel.

My projects continually run out of memory for Microsoft Excel. What is the feasibility of 512 bit applications?

  8. Keep the dimensions (width and height) of the spreadsheet as it was saved.

Keep the dimensions (width and height) of the spreadsheet as it was saved and not only be able to resize it to 50%, even though you can adjust it later (Win + arrow). In previous versions it was like this.

  9. Hyperlinking the preferred PowerPoint slide in Excel

I want to open the preferred slide in the PowerPoint deck by clicking the hyperlink in the Excel file. It would be great if we can create a hyperlink to the specific PPT slide in Excel.

  10. Add a CSV mode

Excel is currently designed so that the CSV file format is not an Excel file format. The "Open" and "Save" functions make this clear.

However, if Excel had a "CSV mode", it could be the world's leading CSV editor. Such a mode would be able to be associated with .csv files and would remove all the Excel features that create data that cannot be saved in the CSV format. While in this mode, the file would by default be saved as a CSV.

If a user wanted to use Excel's full functionality with the file, they would need to enable…

  11. AutoSave Locally to the PC and not in the Cloud or Sharepoint - we need to be able to choose where to save our files.

    AutoSave Locally
A person should have the choice of where to save their files. Like on the PC itself instead of the Cloud or Sharepoint.
Really annoyed that this has been removed (older versions had it) - now we are forced to save on the Cloud, or use the POOR substitute AutoRecover, which does not help you AT ALL, when you are working with Mountains of Data, and lost it within the time frame the autorecover wasnt runninig.
Love excel - but one would think choosing where to save your file while keeping hard work saved, is one's own choice.

  12. "TIME TRAVEL" FEATURE.

Excel To include with time travel feature. This will facilitate to access back the file even if saved for erroneous data which will enable to access file for previous times status like 5min, 10min, 15min etc. back or before. In this way even file saved with heavy mistakes can be retrieved back to previous status and can be utilised for further work without redoing as whole. It is like restore to some known good configuration as in windows registry.

  13. No Wi-Fi use of Office

I often copy files from my home PC to a USB stick so that I can work on them with laptops at cabin - no internet access there. Why can't I configure Excel, Word, etc. to not use OneDrive?

  14. "Save a copy" should not behave the same as "save as" for Excel (.xls*) formats

The behaviour of the "save a copy" functionality is not intuitive and contrary to the behaviour in other (non-Microsoft) tools.

When I choose to save a copy of my Excel file (in one of the xls* formats) I do expect Excel to keep my original file open. Instead "save a copy" behaves exactly like "save as", i.e. the newly saved file is the one open in Excel.

  15. Saving in Windows formatted text

I need to save my Excel document in a Windows formatted text .txt format, but I do not see this option available. I see Macintosh formatted text, MS-DOS formatted text, UFC16 Unicode formatted text, and tab delimited text, but not what I need.

  16. Enable date and time shortcut in file saving window

I majorly work on one main master file, i used to update very frequently.
While saving file name i use date or time at the end of file name to find the recent one. If you enable shortcuts "Ctrl" + ";" for date and "Ctrl" + "Shift" + ";" for time which will be so useful for me.

  17. Add an "Save As" file option for pipe delimited files

The switch back and forth from comma and pipe separated formats is a pain. The pipe delimited format should be a standard option - without requiring changes to the Regional settings.
